  1. It's spelled out as an RWR antenna in the book, and the two photos on the bottom of the page do clearly show it as offset to the jet's left side. Jake
  2. That is a REALLY great point, and a definite pet peeve of mine. Seats on display at museums, etc, cannot be used as reference, and too many aftermarket manufacturers tend to do so. the Aires seats are accurate only for USAF jets, though, so aren't applicable to an F-4J, even though they are included in an F-4J cockpit set.
  3. Wow!!! That's amazing! Got any more pics? I'd love to see more In-Progress pics and finished model pics if you have more to share. Jake
  4. That is so cool!!! Great progress!!
  5. There is no such thing as accurate line drawings. I've yet to see any drawings anywhere that were accurate, unless they are the official drawings released by the manufacturer. The reason is simply because they are drawn by an artist based on photos, and left to the translation, interpretation, and imagination (in many cases) of the artist. If you're looking for 100% accuracy, use photos of the real thing. The D&S book is not great because it's old, not in full-color, and the drawings are not accurate. My suggestion for a Naavy F-4 is to get the Daco F-4 book. It's much, much more thorough. Jake
  6. Wow!! Can't wait to see this come together!!
  7. I got mine today. Really nice work! The detail and casting is superb!! Thanks again! Jake
  8. Looking forward to those, for sure!! Jake
  9. These look great. When do you anticipate having the loaded version ready? Jake
  10. Hi Jan. Those look great. I'll take a set. Jake
  11. Outstanding work!! This is great to watch come together. Jake
  12. Dude!!! More pics of that phantom please!!!!!
  13. Holy hell dude. That is a whole 'nuther level. jeeeeeezzzz
  14. Would LOVE to! We need the Modern Pave Hawk Guide first.
  15. The gun gasses streak along the bottom of the jet. When they're downrange, they do get exquisitely filthy. I was around the Boise Hogs when they came home from the sandbox a couple years ago. It was so awesome. They took great pride in their dirty Hogs. Jake
  16. There are no words, brother. I'm absolutely speechless. It just all looks so REAL!! I'm always eagerly watching for your updates. Jake
  17. JAWS is an F-16 guy in his unit's engine shop. He knows his stuff. As he said, the jet you've shown in the pic isn't undergoing 'maintenance.' It's merely getting a quick check. Opening up the panels over the gun isn't a 'quick check.' that is only done during routine inspections during phase or when the gun breaks. Either way, the jet's explosives (weapons and cartridges in the pylons/bomb racks) are downloaded. A jet in a hangar, for obvious reasons, has no live ordnance loaded, which is why finding photos of A USAF JET depicted as such isn't likely to happen. The super Hornet pic you referenced is also only undergoing a quick check. the avionics panels along its nose are quickly opened and checked during the preflight and post flight, but the same rules apply--before it's towed into the ship's hangar bay, all explosive ordnance is downloaded. Jake
