Stellar work - what a beautiful model. The best Italeri Starfighter I've seen so far!

Great job! Just one question - the Aires nozzle looks a tad small in diameter. Is the Isracast nozzle bigger in diameter? -

What a great project - looking forward to seeing how this will turn out! BTW, you don't need a 3D printing company to scale up 48th scale parts - that's total overkill and won't fit anyway. Why? Because you'd scale up parts which fit a smaller model which already has a bigger material thickness than your 32nd scale vacu kit, so your very expensive parts are going to be too small. Or you have somebody scan the vacu kit and re-work the already scanned parts to make them fit the vacu. In this case, you can directly ask somebody to design totally new parts. My point is: that method sounds fancy and professional, but it makes no sense. Just measure the 48th scale parts, make a drawing, scan it and scale it with a graphics program (or ask you local copyshop). Use the drawings as pattern for new parts made from sheet. Leave some additional material around every part which is in contact with the fuselage and then obtain a perfect fit by sanding them to shape.

1/32 Italeri F-104S ASA "Spaghetti Starfighter"
Starfighter replied to DoogsATX's topic in Works in Progress
Looking very nice - flawless work, but the side consoles are lacking contrast IMO. Some white lettering would be a good start. Then, there were quite a few red knob covers, placards and yellow surroundings on the real thing, so there are many possibilities to add some colour! -
Surprised no one has mentioned the Trumpeter A-6E/Tram on sale
Starfighter replied to ScottsGT's topic in LSP Discussion
Now that's a good offer - I am just hesitating because the customs went mad on my last order from the US - I had to pay more than $40 on an order worth $84... anyway, does anybody know if the free shipping offer works for Europe as well? -
Thanks mate, I am aware of that. I haven't touched the consoles yet, they'll all be rebuilt - it's one of the next steps on my list!

No need to apologize - it's far from being finished, so you're not that late, Mark! Radders, if you come to Belgium in 2016 there is at least a minimum chance for me to finish a model...

Much better than before, Tom! I think the countour looks a little too square around the intake area - reminds me of an RF-4 (with the faired over Sparrow rails). Keep the pics coming, what a cool project!!

Lovely, Jim! -
Although not related to this topic - John - have you received my last email regarding those canopies? Would be great if you could come back to me!

Mighty impressive!

review Review: Italeri 2505: 1/32 Mirage IIIC
Starfighter replied to LSP_Kevin's topic in LSP Discussion
Thanks for the review - looking pretty good! Just one remark - the 'nasty moulding flaw' on the fuselage is a trace left by a slide. Slides always cause minor traces ('seams') on the parts, in this case the slide seems to be badly adjusted as it is obviouls sitting too low. -
What a great looking conversion - I love it!
-
Thanks, Radders! I you want to see it in the flesh, think about coming to Belgium on December 13th - the Belgian Scale Modellers Convention is an excellent show and I'll attend it with my club to show my crappy stuff. http://www.bsmc.be/convention

Short update here - nothing to show, I'm afraid. I am currently working on a group build themed 'My new forever hobby room but first need to finish those other useless rooms around'. I have received the masks Randy has cut using my artwork in the meantime - Randy, thank you very much for your patience and all the work you have put into these masks. Can't wait to use them! We're planning to move house in late November at latest, so 'real' updates should follow within December.

Looking good so far, Karim! The only thing I don't like are those ugly, flat PE ejection handles. I'd replace them with some wire, but that's just my 2 cents!
-
Man, that's really bad... but it could have been so much worse - in German, I'd say 'you got away with a black eye'. Cheer up, take your time and bring her back to old glory!

A-4E Skyhawk Aggressor (Trumpeter A-4F kit - 1/32)
Starfighter replied to alaninaustria's topic in Works in Progress
Looking great so far, but an aggressor with external tanks is very unusual, isn't it? -
Retrokits also makes very nice GRU-5 seats btw! It is a hame indeed that Aires (NOT Aries!) doesn't seem to be interested in the Intruder kits. They seem to be rather slow with their new releases at the moment, so there could be hope for some AM from their side in the future.

Very cool project - I'll be watching this space for sure!

The Tigger kit should be a good base. The kits I've ordered from John were always nicely vacufirmed and the material thickness was sufficient, no issues here. Are you going to fill the fuselage with expanding foam, Nic? Could be helpful in this case as the Wyvern has a rather large fuselage if I remember correctly.
