  1. Well thanks for the information and replies. I have also been scooting about the net to see the various sprues and instructions. I am not 100% sure if I should really get involved with this as a main project, so many other projects to finish, but you just never know.

    Reskit A-7

Well the competition is beating me to it but only myself to blame, but I still hope to do some parts of my own, as and when I get around to this.
  3. Dave thanks for the quick heads up all very helpful. Not having a kit in any variant at the minute makes some visualisation tricky. On the canopy I could tint, but I am always nervous to do this, as it is either to light or too dark depending on the modeller, also the other issue is to get as consistent as possible tint to each canopy. The clear resin is running out at almost 5 times the cost of standard resin, so mixing up a batch of tinted resin is a huge risk factor, well to me it is. However I shall possibly give some thought and trials to the canopy.
  4. Hi Guys I have never been a super fan of the F-35, but with the ‘B’ option RAF markings now available and soon in 1/48 by Tamiya, I have been doing some thinking and may get at least one, probably the smaller scale option. HOWEVER, I was wondering how the 1/32 kit stacks up, I have read a few online reviews but know I will get more accurate and informative replies from you guys on LSP. First up I presume that the u/c is the same across the variants in real life, or do they change, that being A, B and C This leads to the next question is a strengthened u/c required for the kit? Second up I presume the cockpit canopy is the same across the A, B and C? Looking at the assembly on instructions on line this seems to get quite complicated and the clear requires attaching to the framework, would there be interest in me making a all in one cast clear resin canopy set. Lastly any other items that you would be interested in, however I think most other areas are being covered by other aftermarket companies. I am more than willing to invest in a kit to do some upgrades if you guys would like them or if you think there is a market for them. cheers Ali
  5. On a quick look in warpaint I thought that the cowling with the exhausts coming through the little blisters was the early type, of cowling, now Nick raised the question. As you say Dennis, it a gets confused when different types of the same aircraft operated side by side. The bottom line if they have got it correct, I do not have to try and replicate this cowling type. I say correct as Tom found out when he scratch built a pair that they were asymmetrical, and Quickboost had got it wrong in 1/48 scale.
  6. Oh well that is two of us, I got it the wrong way round, will try better the next time. Thanks for pointing it out though
  7. Well that sorts out the earlier style cowlings, saves me the job. Looking good for a series, so hopefully an RAF version makes its way along at some point.
  8. Got mine from Hannants, such lovely decals, now to decide which one I build…..when that will be I have no idea. Well done Eli and Dennis, for putting this together, looking forward to the future releases.
  9. F-89 pods for a big kit, but it is not LSP https://www.aerocraftmodels.com/northrop-f-89-d-rocket-wing-pods-215-p.asp https://www.aerocraftmodels.com/northrop-f-89-h-rocket-wing-pods-216-p.asp https://www.aerocraftmodels.com/northrop-f-89-d-rocket-wing-pods-217-p.asp https://www.aerocraftmodels.com/northrop-f-89-h-rocket-wing-pods-218-p.asp
  10. This is a set that is 3D printed set as previously seen and developed by Chad of Flying S Models. https://www.aerocraftmodels.com/general-dynamics-f-111-aardvark-undercarriage-and-wheel-set-213-p.asp
  11. Oh that is a pity Erwin only ordered so few, will Hannants have them in the next few days?
  12. Thank you Pete, but no you were not the first by a long way, you are a week behind the times……. before you ask on other SUBJECT, NO NOT YET, but not forgotten. With no dramatics life has been challenging of late, but I am working on lots of bits and projects I have promised will be delivered, some of them are becoming very important to ME to get finished and over the line. Watch this space.
  13. See the reply and information on my dedicated forum page.
  14. Hi Guys as per the A-20 undercarriage thread on the main page I have developed an extra 3D part that will hopefully secure the nose strut as I originally designed and supplied. I fully understand that this is a work around in someways, and not 100% prototypical. I think this will appease most modellers as this will secure the nose strut and make for a strong assembly. However to have made more of the original kit parts and joined to the main strut was not and would not be practical from a casting point of view. I am very great full to Tom Wilson aka Uncarina showing the issue, and a work around so this could be corrected. As previously stated I will contact each customer individually to sort out the delivery of the new part, so expect an email soon, if you have purchased a set or more. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154612402@N07/53183633763/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/154612402@N07/53183138221/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/154612402@N07/53183138221/in/dateposted-public/
  15. Thank you Peter, I have the full kit myself now, Tom’s solution is the best, I have just made a simple correction that will work with the nose strut set I have already supplied, so will hopefully keep most happy.
  16. Tom the new part is a printed tube very similar to your solution, this will be the best solution for strength and stability, I will update the thread soon
  17. Ok now I fully realise the issue with this section. In my defence I was leant the front u/c parts, and not the wheel bay parts and had no instructions. However I should have looked at everything better, and if so could have extended the brass shaft even more, I thought my extension was going to be enough, although not accurate would have secured the design. So what I intend to do now is make a purpose built support, using Tom’s thoughts above, and will make that new 3D printed part available to those that want and need it. Once again it will not be 100% prototypical accurate but it will offer the support that the model requires. At this point please do not swamp me with requests I will get the part drawn and printed, check it out and then get hold of all the customers on an individual basis that way I will have better control over the situation. I am still going to look at the main undercarriage as some guys still want that improving and there are similar support issues that I noticed, so I need to explore the engineering correctly on that before making new parts. Thanks for all the input on this, Chuck D and especially Tom, for showing a solution. I will endeavour to make working solution using the brass part supplied with a new 3D resin support part to provide the best support for the model.
  18. Good to know your thoughts, just remember though parts always break at the NEW weakest point, so if a typical 90 degree bend is not supported in both directions then it will break. What I mean is if the main strut is supported, but that does not transfer to the horizontal axle then that will be where the strut is now the weakest. Depending on the axle size and the diameter of the wheel, the larger the wheel, the worse it will be with leverage forces.
  19. I am very interested to hear the feed back on these sets, as you may know I have some brass sets with 3D printed parts, which do offer the strength. These do look amazing and have incredible detail, and I know that they have strengthened metal rods within. However one of their previous sets I put]r chased to evaluate in 1/48 for the Mig25, I found it extremely difficult to remove the actual part from all the supports. Therefore it will be great to hear the feedback once you guys have bought these and used them on a build, we always need to strive for better, but that needs to be in details and use ability of the parts.
  20. Well guys I have made the shortened screen now available, I did. Lot of thinking as to what else I could or should provide, at the end of the day it opened up more and more cans of worms, so the screen has been recast and is available for all that want to tackle the correction. In my listing you will see that I refer back to Romain’s (ROM onLSP) article in Cocardes, but further up the thread he does show where the cut should be.
  21. Thank you for the input Craig. I did this at the request of a customer who sent me his canopy that was badly marked. I fixed those issues and recast it for him. I should have seen if there were further issues as indicated but I did not go that far unfortunately. I am sure the canopy will help out many guys that have badly marked / manufactured canopies, well they are available for those that would like them.
  22. Hi Dave The Mirage is a huge project but guys on here asked for the screen and they would do the rest. In simple terms though if you place the screen on the kit, it will be clear where it needs cut. However Romain has done a brilliant article on the subject so it is best to get that and consult that. The A-10 is the kit parts recast, but with the flaws removed. cheers Ali
