  1. Sorry, Kev. I only saw the post by Dennis7423. I have appropriately removed mine!
  2. He has posted on his Facebook page that price and ordering information is to be announced next week.
  3. Yes! Werner von Brauns post-war rocket development with the US Army eventually led to US astronauts on the moon. History would have been different if he hadn't surrendered to American forces in May 1945. I'm sure the Russians would have loved getting their hands on him.
  4. Could that BE any more annoying? Up next, fingernails visiting a chalkboard!
  5. Re: Henri Daehne prop upgrade sets. Clicky on the link below to see what the bits and pieces look like on the model. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=1257
  6. Well, a swing and a miss for me. Of course I could have read RT Volume 20 No.4 on 441 Squadron Mustangs where this glare shield is mentioned.
  7. This was an area of very heavy exhaust staining. These aircraft were hand-me-downs from 154 Sqd RAF so I doubt you are seeing remnants of kill markings. I suspect (and I stand to be corrected) you are seeing an area that has been wiped down, possibly with petrol, causing a discoloration. This discoloration is present on other aircraft of 442 squadron as well. I have some nice hi-rez piccies I'll send to you off board including an in-flight shot of W/C James Storrar's aircraft in natural metal, JAS KM-232, which shows just how dark the exhaust stains got. Uploading and posting links through ImageShack is a PITA.
  8. Just be aware that if you are going to do Y2-B the decals and instructions are incorrect in the Xtradecal set as regards the serial number. Y2-B was KH-680, not KM-680. You can get the “H” from one of the other serial numbers though.
  9. The cockpit cowling style shown (fully enclosed engine) tells me that's the 1/10 RC kit they use to make. I believe the only static plastic model of the P34 with that cowling style was the 1/20 Fujimi kit. To my knowledge, all the Tamiya static kits had the open rear cowling (exposed engine) and driver windows in the forward section of the cowling.
  10. I don't mind that Tyrrell P34 at all! Too bad it's RC.
  11. Okay. So, I was trying to dig up some information before I answered as I was certain I had it somewhere, and I'm sure I do! Here's what I do know. The Nesher's came into service (1971 I believe) alongside the Mirage IIICJ, and they had the Martin Baker zero-zero Mk.JM-6. I believe that is the correct designation. The defining feature between the Mk.4 and Mk.6 (and I do stand to be corrected on this) is the overhead pull ring. The Mk. 4 had a single, D-shaped loop. The Mk.6 had two loops. So if you can find a picture.............
  12. I'd really like to see Tamiya do another 1/12 (1/8 would be better) motorcycle kit with the same level of detail as their RC166 kit, including a bunch of detail-up sets just like they did for the RC166. I would like to see a Kawasaki personally. Either a 500 or 750cc two-stroke triple from the 1970's, or a Z1-900. But I think the quintessential motorcycle kit would have to be a Honda 750-Four.
  13. Nice pics. Everyone (?) joining in to peel off sealant tape after arrival by ship.
  14. Of note on 703 as this is closest and easiest to see. The red on the leading edge slats does not extend all the way to the lead edge of the slats and the red has been removed from the fixed surface of the upper port wing where the insignia is. I would assume the red was similarly removed from the starboard wing underside for the same reason. Nice photos. Any idea which squadron they came from?
  15. Yes. How the aircraft is depicted in the decal instructions could be seen as rather incongruous. I would like to know what Armycast has to say. It's completely reasonable to contact the decal manufacturer and ask them what the source of the scheme was. Was it their research, someone else's......?
  16. Barring the photographic evidence that you are after, one explanation is that this surplus USN TA-4J simply hadn't been repainted from its original VT squadron overall white. Is it possible that the IAF needed the aircraft for service ASAP and didn't have time to repaint it, but did so later? You could always email Armycast and ask them what their reference for this particular scheme was.
  17. Chuck, This is what the two that I had looked like-easily seen just behind the casting block. The first from Ultracast and then the replacement from Barracuda. I don't remember if this pic is of the first or second. Doesn't matter really as they were identical. I can accept having a bad one the first time but then having Roy not Q.C. the replacement just ain't cricket in my opinion. Incredible build going. Don't want to sidetrack with this post but did want to answer your question.
  18. I hope both of your replacement noses are okay. My original one was purchased from UltraCast-it was defective. I contacted Roy and sent him pictures. He sent me a replacement which was also defective. Nice! I threw them both in the garbage and was done with it!
  19. Well, I just hope I'm not disappointed to the tune of $120 USD tomorrow.
  20. FWIW I was emailed that kit has been shipped and have a UPS tracking number.
  21. As did I and that's the same answer I got. I guess they are coming by either UPS or DHL. I wonder how long to N.A.?
  22. I contacted Sophia through eBay regarding shipping and I have cut and pasted her reply to me below: Hi Sir The kit will be ready at the early of December, and will ship it out by UPS/DHL. Please wait some more days! Regards Sophia Kitty Hawk Corp.
  23. Anyone got shipping notice yet from KittyHawk?
