Why do modelers always make this argument? Honestly, it is hands down the dumbest one that is made whenever a kit manufacturer announces or hints at a new kit release, especially when a kit of that subjects exists. For the love of all that is holy, please stop with this ridiculous train of thought.

A few points as to why.

First, the Kittyhawk kits are currently not available. It doesn't matter what happened to the molds or if they can be found second hand. At this moment, you can't go to any on-line hobby shop and order their kits.

Second, and this may be a shocker to some, but the Kittyhawk OV-10's don't make ICM money. Another fact that some may find shocking, ICM is in business to make a profit and again, Kittyhawk kit sales don't accomplish that for them.

Lastly, when you needed to buy a new TV, an appliance, a new car, or clothes, did you complain because you had more than one choice? Seriously, why did LG waste their time on a line of refrigerators when Frigidaire already had them available?

The company I'm working at is often importing things from all over the world. We used to pay about $2.000 for a 40ft container from China in 2020. We had to pay $16.250 (yes, sixteen thousand two hundred and fifty) for the very same size and weight of a container two weeks ago. No, not for the contents, that is the freight cost only!

The contents is another story because there is another 80% spike of price there as well in one year. And the shipment was about two months delayed due to how they handle things in China nowadays.

No intention to spread pessimism, just ringing a bell that "cheap kits" period may be over. Post-covid prices are fueled even further up with inflation now. I am collecting the kits I can find and afford because every new kit will be coming with a higher price tag in the next few years.

Hello all;
As many of you know, my beloved husband and life's partner Jerry Crandall passed away due to Covid-19 on 12 June 2022, only 4 days after diagnosis. He begged to come home and not die in the hospital so I worked with Hospice to bring him home on Saturday. He was so happy to be home. The Hospice RN gave us pain management and oxygen. He was home at 4:30 Saturday afternoon and passed at 2:50 on Sunday a.m. He is now with the Lord.
I will continue Eagle Editions, we have several project in the pipeline. We have EagleCals and Wings of the Black Cross projects lined up. Thinking about phasing out some of our resins as they are becoming too expensive to cast.
We started our business in 1974 with western art and prints, expanded into books and hobby decals/resins in 1997 and plan to continue forward.
Thanks for your support in the past and we look forward to working with you in the future.
We have a selection of Bf 109 G-14 and G-6 decals available for the new ZM kit. I'll be sending out a mailer this week. And don't forget our 1:24 Spitfire EagleCals that are just around the corner!!!!

KH did not go out of business for any kit quality issue! If that was the case many other model companies would have seen bankruptcy. It looks they had liquidity problems and were victims of the Covid disruption of their 'just-in-time' production to delivery process. Their kits were not the best but not the worst either and indeed they made some stupid kit design choices. However they had the guts to produce kits no one was willing to cover and this includes a nice series of LSP.
