  1. Looks great! What paint did you use for the yellow? P
  2. Beautiful day in Iowa for an operational L-29 2 ship test flight. My job today was basically to get shot; while another pilot of ours used new software/symbology for the Scorpion helmet to target me- Front cockpit Aft cockpit Not sure what the Eotech rifle sight is for Can’t see this row of circuit breakers when strapped in. I took this photo specifically to have on my phone while flying. The 6th circuit breaker on the top row is for the stab motor- need to be able to find it fast if the motor runs away All ready to go not so fast..waiting at the end for all of the traffic to clear Cheers P
  3. That Iowa Bat is a block 30 small mouth, so the NSI intake is what you need with a GE tailpipe- other items as well- but those are the biggies. you can get there with the CJ Kit and grab an intake and gear from Kasl…plus a few other tweaks- Pete
  4. it takes about 5 minutes for it to set up- So far so good! It grabs like contact cement
  5. Thanks Jay- believe it or not, 3M Super 77 right out of the spray can. It comes out in a nice uniform mist. I am pretty careful to keep the nozzle tip clean. I just shoot the backside of the panel, let it set up, make sure my chakras are aligned, then slap it on the bare plastic. 14 years ago I did a test mule that I applied aluminum panels to with several different adhesives. The Super 77 is still hanging tough- cheers P
  6. Hey OBG- Godzilla is my boy. I made all of my sons watch every Godzilla movie with me..the campy-er the better. They love him too. We have just about every Godzilla toy made. The one you noticed is my favorite. This one logged Many hours on the floor knocking over buildings made with foam blocks. Now he protects my bench from Rodan, marauding cats, and my general buffoonery. Occasionally he holds a model part or assembly, but I try not to distract him- P
  7. Popped this circular panel out in brass just because I thought it looked cool-
  8. this is currently a 14 year project! I’ve got a lot of time invested in this model. It must be pretty special to hold my attention for that long. my Dad always said “perfect is the enemy of finished”…but yes there is a lot at stake; but when it’s done it’s done. My Dad was a great modeler and craftsman. The only modeling advice he ever gave me was “if it’s not right, tear it apart and do it over”…I have a hard time balancing those two quotes of his, but I am beginning to understand how they relate to each other. They are The Zen of modeling for me. P
  9. Pretty outstanding Jay. learning a lot! Thank you! p
  10. Top panel was done with JB Weld- Mask the panel off with tape equal to the thickness of the metal sheet that will butt-up against this panel- sand back to the tape- here you can see how the metal will butt the top panel add fasteners- here’s a look at the fuel overflow vent-
  11. they were both snoring on the floor of my shop the whole time. what is funny about them is they have an incredibly accurate internal clock. I literally felt two wet noses at 1800. dinner time- P
  12. Just thee. and yes I invented some new combinations that I’m particularly proud of- getting the metal to form around that cone shape without breaking the resin underneath was a bear. I am hypoxic from holding my breath all day- P
  13. Well this took all day… but now I know how to make the same panel for the other side-
  14. I use both .005 annealed and non-annealed aluminum sheet. I use the annealed for the wrinkly skin panels typical to the T-38, and the non for the tight skin (like on the horizontal slabs) cheers P
  15. About to start skinning the tail. this is the third one I’ve built, I think- fuel drain to install still; then I can start applying aluminum after sorting out the top panel
