I am so ready to throw this in the bin.
I had a nice, beautiful paint job on her. Shiny, rich colour and smooth. I let it cure for 5 days straight, then masked it up today, spray some alternate colours and with much excitement, pulled the tape off just now and am ready to cry.
Tamiya masking tape has truly f*&k ed my paint job up.
    Its gone from this:

I am using all of my will power not to bin it. I am hoping someone has an idea on how I can fix this cluster &#%k?

managed to get a good result using the Alclad over the Mr Color. No reactions with the paint thankfully. I have been burnt before.
Looks good. Nice glassy finish. Shame it's going to be coloured over

    Thanks for the concern, chaps!
I'm back at the bench making buckles again.
It got a little scary at times, but I came through in the end.

The only thing I'm recovering from at the moment is my pride and some sore ribs. I hit the tarmac this morning while out riding and fell flat on my side, bruising my ribs and cutting open my left eye. Live and learn!

    Onward and upwards.
    Cheers,

I miss the Breguet 14 most of all. They probably would not have released it in Polish or Middle Lithuanian colors, but the French and US options would fill several releases. Then consider the post war mail plane options or so many other smaller air force colors. It is large enough that it would be difficult to imagine other companies going after it, compared to the smaller fighter aircraft.

All 95 blocks have been attached to the yards.  The two very busy photos below provide a good example of just how many blocks there are on the yards.  Except for a couple of minor touch ups, the fore mast yards are 100% complete and the stirrups and horses for the main mast yards are around 50% finished.  Once work on the yards is done the next step will be to attach blocks to the masts.  Though the kit instructions would have you attach the blocks after stepping the masts in the hull, I think it will be easier to attach the blocks before installing the masts.  I wish I had been as forward thinking concerning the bowsprit, as well as, a few places on the deck.  Attaching the required blocks in those two areas would have been MUCH easier before I installed the bowsprit and the cannons.  Live and learn.

Overall shot of the yards.  The Foremast yards are at the bottom of the photo, whith the Mainmast yards in the middle and the Mizzenmast yards at the top.

A closer shot.  You can see how "busy" the yards are with all their "accouterments" on them.

Just saw a few more of the 737-200 ebay offerings under the company name. Just an FYI.

I know there will be some that want their pre-order now, and will be upset he didn't ship it yet, but sold kits to someone else on ebay. However, back to the real world, this may be the only path to get there, since he may bring in enough cash to fabricate those earlier orders with these sales. He probably already spent the earlier funds developing the kit. Business is a lot harder than it appears from the outside and he is not the only one I have given money to without receiving a kit.

Best of luck to someone who it at least trying to create something of quality.

I haven't emailed with him for a few months. Note that the ebay kit did not include decals, while the pre-orders mentioned several options.

I obtained the kit and had too many distractions. Yes, I could say my dog at it, but actually, I went on a trip to South America, returned for Christmas, but got sick, and more shiny objects appeared.

Anyway, here are some photos of the BPK  and aeromodl kits, plus a few other bits of possible interest. This first one shows the fuselage comparison. aeromodl on top, BPK fuselage injected plastic. BPK splits down the length of the fuselage, uses clear injected plastic strips with the windows molded in. The aeromodl version did not have windows, but offered windows as an option. It splits fore and aft. Note that the wings, tail and tail cone have index pins for location, and the fuselage has a ring insert to align the two halves. Both have really fine detail that will be easy to make invisible with too much paint.

The next two photos show the wings. The two on the left are aeromodl, BPK is on the right. The left most wings are the later versions, the center ones are the earlier versions. I realized that my desired machine was an early one operated by Western, and was one of my first trips on a plane, back in 1975, so I asked him to sell me the earlier version.

The next photo shows the vertical tail/rudder for three versions: BPK on the left, aeromodl in the center and an aftermarket resin part. I can't recall the source right now, but could find it with some searching.

Finally,  the last photo shows landing gear alternatives. The plastic injection parts are BPK as are the gray metal parts (both are supplied, along with rubber tires). The 3D printed parts are aeromodl's and the brass parts come from G Factor... sort of unobtainium even when I bought them, but maybe he will sell them again.

Hope this helps. BPK is a bit fiddly with the long clear window strips, but it ends up with windows, as also on the cockpit, which is a clear part. Being injected plastic, many people will like working with the BPK over the printed and resin parts. Aeromodl does have very nice detail and some different early options, but you have to be able to buy one somewhere. BPK offers some of the later versions, and they seem to be available most of the time. I do like the idea of those wild and crazy Southwest flag planes. There are so many interesting and beautiful possibilities with colorful 737's.

There is still a bit of time left until Christmas and here IBG Models sent me a gift from me in the form of their new model of PZL P.24 B aircraft (72554) in Bulgarian paintings and the model came with 3D printed extras. And there are two kits dedicated to P.24 series aircraft: IBG 72U023 Radiators and Venturi Tube for PZL P.24A/B/C/E - 3d printed (1:72) and IBG 72U025 Pilot's seat with seatbelts for PZL P.24A/B/C/G - 3d printed (1:72). I would like to thank IBG Models for the supplied model and accessories. That's enough introduction now it's time to see what's inside.

After opening it up, this is what it looks like inside.

    All the mouldings.

    Two plates and a film.

Decal sheet and what I found very interesting is the lettering ( number 26 ) on the tyres! A revelation for me.

There are three camouflage variants to choose from, I haven't chosen which one I will build yet. And as you can see there is also an invitation to "Babaryba 2024" it is the biggest and best modelling event in Poland.

A complete novelty of IBG Models company, that is their 3D printed add-ons and here they are dedicated to PZL P.24 family of aircraft.

All in all, we have a very interesting version of the P.24 in uncommon paintings with very interesting additions. I still have to look at the source materials to see what more can be squeezed out of this model. There is nothing left for me to do but to invite you to continue this workshop thread.
I would like to thank IBG Models for the supplied model and accessories.

I pre-ordered earlier, and paid for another kit through the ebay sale. I have to say it is a beautiful kit. However, excellence alone may not make this happen, if the business and communication side doesn't work. I would greatly prefer this kit over the BPK kit, which I also own, but you can purchase the BPK kit in a variety of locations. I would pay for another ebay offer, should he make one available. I wish him success,

The color matches my son's four door work in process and looks great. He is hopefully nearing the end of making it mobile again, and it actually sat on all four wheels last week, having been up on jacks for months. He decided to keep as much of the original paint as possible, stabilizing the rust underneath, but clear coating the body.

Great to see a miniature form of the car with the same color. I am tempted to build a small version as a "what if?" flying car like so many of us fantasized about back in the day. What better choice than the '57 to fly?
