  1. Great work so far, Animal. That is definitely a nice looking model. The real thing would have made a graceful airliner.
  2. Nice. I'll have a couple. Perhaps I could fix the Matchbox kit using bits from the Vac kit???
  3. Too scared to hit that button, Brian
  4. Yes it is, Mike. Very apt for LSP. I'll have to check the kit first but there are always seat belts and bake lines. Can't use the PE Rolls Royce plates, though. I hear ya, Dave. It's definitely on my "to-do" list... along with the Sunderland/Canberra/Strikemaster etc, etc. It's been calling to me from my stash and I have everything I need. Unfortunately, these are vac kits so will require some daunting (and extensive) scratch building. But... I have a lot of started projects that I really need to clear from my bench before I start something this size. This time around, I might really just need something simple/stupid to ease me back into the model building frame of mind. The little Tamiya, Revell and Wingnut kits fit that bill nicely. Having said all that, it's a 12 month group build, so you never know. Maybe it's time for another "Clear the bench" GB?
  5. Mike:"Are you thinking winter/dirty bird?" I don't think I could pull something like that off. Think I'll stick with the "standard" camo. Actually, I'm just trying to avoid Messerschmitts and Focke Wulfs... which seem to take up more than their fair share of the stash. Other candidates: Salamander (needs a new seat). Avenger (I already started it) Ju 88 (big job) Catalina (really big job) Sagitario (definitely maybe) Wingnuts kit (They are all cool, very tempting) Tamiya Spitfire (100% OOB!) and the real thing is in a shed, near my home. I've got plenty to choose from, it's just a case of what I'm in the mood for. Obviously, there's nothing stopping from building the rest anyway... just motivation. Mmmm. I don't seem to have a He 111 in my collection. Might have to do something about that.
  6. I'm thinkin it might be a good excuse to break out the IL-2 It's really the only oddball in my collection and should look fine OOB.
  7. The Mods are volunteers, Brad. And the prizes are usually supplied by generous members. This is not a profit generating site, just a bunch of enthousiasts.
  8. I'm also pondering this one. It's been a while since I built an LSP. There has to something in the 100 or so kits in my stash that fits this GB.
  9. I might have mentioned this before, but you are one lucky SOB, Andreas.
  10. At least they aren't refuelling.
  11. wow I seriously beg to differ. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  12. Terrific subject. I will be happily following along with this one... as I'm sure, many others will be too. Good luck.
  13. Doug, I believe this thread is already a record holder for being the very first LSP WiP by a female. It's only taken a decade (are we really that boring?)
  14. Nice going Jamie, I'm looking forward to this one.
  15. Hi Teresa and Welcome to LSP. You are off to a great start. The little Komet is certainly a popular kit and I'm sure most of us have one of these in our collection. Here was my inspiration for buying this kit... from the very early days of LSP: (by Charles Wissig) I hope to see more of yours soon.
  16. Nice one AJ. The (scale) models on this site just keep getting better and better.
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing the kit. Thanks for the heads-up, Ken
  18. I know it has been said before, but... Friggin AWESOME!
  19. I couldn't help but notice the Electra that has made it's way into the photos. What scale is that?
