  1. I would say that is correct! The basic Academy F-16CJ has that as well.
  2. P-38 would be great. Of course the Fokker G.1 was the best twin-forked devil The Me-109...also possible. Or how about a Hurricane? Jets: as mentioned by a lot of us. Re-issue the Thunderbirds kit, A (MLU) model and a twoseater. New F-14A/B/D in light of TopGun2 (Maverick)...or go for the Super Hornet?
  3. Any predictions for this year? A prop or a jet?
  4. Nice try. Overpriced like the AFV Club twoseater. And we all know that Tamiya should hit the market with the twoseater
  5. that one turned out nicely! Well done!
  6. I think the whole fuss is about nothing and the spine seems ok to me. Perhaps if it reallllllly is sooooo bad, Zactoman?
  7. Really!? Well, that is a relief. Some of the work is still relevant and most useful today. Any idea if they are going to issue some of it again?
  8. seems the black base is non-gloss and causes the coarse-ness? Did you use matt black? or gloss? Gloss black is the way to go. Alclad has a good baselayer as well as Mr. Color
  9. Great job! I like the way you attacked the recessed panelling on this jet. I am going to try it on the TF-104G by Italeri which suffers from the same issue. Will take time and patience but looking at your effort, it seems worth it. Great Franken-cockpit also by the way!
  10. I see. So, the company ended in bankruptcy? or filed for it? It is a strange way to operate: destroy what is of potential tremendous value. I read that the legacy PE/Resin/Books company Verlinden also finished business. There were no interested parties to buy it (or parts of the valuables (goodwill, masters etc), so they closed shop and destroyed the remaining stock and masters...a crying shame. Good you decided to jump in the hole left behind!!! Now...how about the F-16A./B conversions in 48 and 32? LOL
  11. And he measured the beast itself. I do wonder where the original molds ended up. That would help a company further that would be willing to take this further. Until then, not much alternatives, my price lowered a bit . ZM is still my best bet I think
  12. Tony, the rear end of the fuselage is being fixed by ZM and a separate modification set is available. So, I would not rule this out...yet
  13. This is also a unique subject. Maybe Gary can pick it up then? Although CE was one of the first around I have not seen a lot after them that have tackled desired conversions (GT excepted; lovely F-4B/N set!). So, again, the F-4K/M discussion(s) will continue to pop up...until a regular injection molded version is released by one of the big ones (Tamiya (not going to happen probably), ZM (slim chance since they are 48-focussed and only tackle props in 32 (Horten as an exception)), HK (not going to happen), KH (not going to happen), and Italeri (not going to happen, although a Tonka is coming!)...so, either do a cut-up F-4J of Tamiya, use GTs resin or get the CE set... anyway, I hope for ZM one day to upscale their fabulous Phantoms
  14. I can assure you it is! And the fit is quite good as well.
  15. Of course that is a way of looking at it. What I also see, is most of the models out there are prop-related. Not much jet-engine work (HpH does do the B-52 and B-36 but those are really also highly priced and I have not seen many HpH kits built to be honest...it is a lot of work I think (despite the Viber glass material for main components). Anyway, it is what it is and the CE (WHA) kit is unique from an era where they rained quite supreme
  16. What Tony said: the norm with the new normal for kits such as the B-17 and Lancaster is steep and yes pricing the conversion is perhaps high. Difference is that the B-17/Lancaster are available in larger quantities. It should be realized that perhaps only about 30-40 Brit Phantom sets were ever finished (and CE pocketing money while never sending the kits because time was up due to bankruptcy). So, 30 holy grail kits against hundreds of B-17s etc does justify for a seller a higher price. Again, I sell it as I also won’t build it and do not need to have it collect dust. I hope someone gets it who will build it.
  17. well, never say never! But I decided I am selling mine!!! See the ebay section for the link!
  18. they should follow through with the high viz versions they have in the smaller scales as well. The low viz is great quality though!
  19. What would be of course a crazy thought: Airfix doing the 1/32 version of the Brit Phantom!!
  20. http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/galleries/phantomfgr2fm_1.htm link to his original is in here as well.
  21. If you follow the original builder, Frank Mitchell, this can be easily modified. Not really the issue here I think. I've seen prices over a 1000 USD (2500 USD was the highest)...and although I really hope Jennings is right, it will still be away for many many years. The same applies to a discussion started about the Kityhawk Streak and Flash which were to follow the Sabre Dog...I also worked with KH to supply data but ...that was 2013-2014....and we are in 2019. I do think we have been very spoiled with all these great kits, so there is enough other work to be done. Anyway, I may be persuaded to sell the Brit anyway as I am not going to build it.
  22. I got mine via Ron Dobrezeleki back then. I also ordered, paid, but no clearance...and no kit. However, I am pondering to sell it as I think someone else should have this. Again, maybe one day ZM would do it. But I think they stick to 48 for the masses on this one. How many would a company need to sell to break even? I have no idea.
  23. and part 2, the decals...a lot of options, a lot... and there are masks as well provided.
