I've never been a real fan of American armor, so it looks like Das Werk for me.

Andy said that in the future Das Werk will concentrate on releasing german armor, and Andy will concentrate on american armor. And he also said that the next kit wont be a WW2 vehicle! And that cant be a Korean War veichle either since the armor used in that conflict was from WW2. Then it must be a vehicle from the Vietnam war or a modern one.

I have been assembling after market parts for kits in the stash, many of the parts  where highlighted in other peoples builds.

Must get round to building a Gladiator

    And just released.

The ANZY stuff and the barrels came from a Max build.

Plus lots of other YAHU stuff.

    Cheers

I've been looking at those. I guess the Macross stuff had its 40th anniversary, so there is tons of stuff out there. It looks like the plastic model rights have changed hands 3 to 5 times?

The Hasegawa kits seem pretty reasonable too.

They seem to have many of the mechs Battletech used in the first few editions before they lost the rights to most of them. They had everything from Macross but the basic bad-guy stuff. I remember being really disappointed when the company that made Battletech lost those rights, and all my favorite mechs became hard to find. I still have a bunch. No more Mauraders or Warhammers!

The Hasegawa 1/48 kits are actually more detailed and build up quite nicely. If you drop down to their 1/72 line, there's a lot more variety.

@Greg W,  I checked the stash and I still have the lower cowl from the Alley Cat PR XI conversion. Even though it's designed for the Tamiya kit the fit still requires some work.

I won't be using it as I'm doing a PR XIX so if you want that, it's yours for the postage.

You would still need the AIMs set for the rest but it may make it easier to use on the Tamiya kit.

MAN, that is cool.  I searched on Ebay, 1100-1200 bucks now! To rich for my blood, but I would have shelled out retail for it, if I had known at the time!

Since you like big scale and Macross, you could try to find on eof these:

I have one and it is by far the biggest single kit box I own. Model too.

Back on topic, AFV Modeller has released some detail sets for the M10 and Achilles kits. They include a driver's section and radios.

I'd be curious to see how it compares as well. I have a Procon Boy 770 myself for detail work and they're definitely underrated.

.....with inserts of their eventual aim/intention.  This is the first time I have ever looked at a Fly kit, I know they are not perfect (I can see that from a very cursory look at the sprues) but with some delicious bits of AM the kit has great potential.

On my apparently unstoppable stride to downgrade my modelling tools, I bought this Gaahleri airbrush for 52 euros (they’re even cheaper in the US).
I’d be curious to know how it fares against my trusty but more expensive Creos Procon PS-270 and 289.

    I’ll let you know.
    Cheers,

Gundam kits are one of the biggest things keeping my LHS in business. That and Warhammer 40K miniatures. The owner is so glad that his nephew asked him to bring the stuff in. Not only are customers buying them, they're buying paint, cement, AM too for them.

I have a couple Gundam kits in the stash myself. They're a nice distraction like the Bandai Star Wars kits can be. Plus the engineering on them is pretty impressive.
This is the most recent one I built. Didn't need any masking to pull off the paint job due to the parts breakdown.

Above and Below are great. He took over the Canmilair decals.  I recently used their decals on a 1/32 CT-133.

Hopefully they have what you're looking for.

The kit is really nice. It's very detailed. I built it shortly after it came out. There's a lot of small parts to the kit, including some that are PE.

    Hi
Here is an american F-16 pilot equiped with a HGU-55 helmet and the former MBU-12 mask, so a bit old style, and wearing only the seat harness and the G-suit : 80s - 2000s era, or later depending to the countries, squadrons and pilots. These gears were commonly used by several countries in the world. The type of pilot I could see in the "good old days" (was not always good, but I spend some good time on airfields...)

    cheers+

I have been adding layers of weathering and playing with the various new weathering products. The bottled washes are pretty nice, but it's easy to go overboard with the dark brown wash for green vehicles.  They work great in conjunction with weathering pencils. The washes being oil-based do not effect the pencils, so you can pencil an area, hit it with a wash, then go back and use water on the weather pencil to loosen it up and move it around, and the wash goes with it.

All the light brown is pencil, the darker stuff is the dark wash.

The pencil can end up fairly dark if you really draw it on thick. The flash is washing it out, making it harder to see. When its not raining like crazy, I'll take them outside and get some natural light shots.

With a thick enough layer and light enough water, you can make it look like light is sticking to the surface. Up by the base of the turret in the fuel filler area, you can see the area kept clearer by the pencil when a wash was applied.  I bought some thick brown paper; I'm going to try and use that and some brass rod for buckles to make hold-down straps.I left the left-hand bracket for the cleaning rod, on the package shelf, off as well so I can fit the painted cleaning rods into the holder and glue them in place so they look cleaner than trying to paint in place.

You can see the dirt effect on the front hull of this one better.

Just another close-up. In-person, it looks like the kind of dirt layer you get if your vehicle is very dusty and gets hit by some myst.

I lost one of the hold-down bolts for a track link, so one of them is hanging crooked because I'm sure they went missing in real life, too.

Things were going so well. Then I decided to help the wife with the laundry. I carried too many laundry bags at once, caught the turret of the Red Devil tank as I was going by, and dumped the turret on the floor. It busts the muzzle brake, the commander's sight, one of the machine gun brackets, and the barrel holder off. It sheered the Antenna off as well, cracked the shell open, broke the recoil guard off, and blew off the bottom of the canvas cover. It popped the commander's hatch apart and broke off the internal handles.

You can see the Machine gun bracket, and the shell seem here.

A few of the collected parts.

It was all easy to fix with some crazy glue, normal plastic cement, and then touching up the paint.
It took about a half hour to glue everything back on, and about a half hour to touch up the paint the glue messed up.

    Some shots post paint fix.

So its 99% fixed. I'm sure most people won't notice these little signs. The tow cables are about to go on, and the figures are being worked on, so these are close to being done. Andy's tanks don't just look good, they take a fall well!
