Ooh, one of the most elegant jets ever and I missed this thread ...
Great work, Ryan. Any progress lately?
Cheers
Rainer
Hey Rainer, no progress really, I'm quite fickle when it comes to modeling subjects and AC are on the very back burner currently.
Thanks for the interest.

Hi Ray, are you saying there's nothing that can be done to lessen the impact of a stroke ? All they can do is wait for it to end ?
Once it starts, there's no stopping it ???
In my experiences it was on or off, no real build up.
First one was at 18 years old, A friend asked me a question, I answered in gibberish and then fell down, the entire right side was paralyzed. I regained about everything in 10 days +/-.
The second one was when was 30, I was sitting on the couch...I answered my wife in gibberish and it happened again, although the second time it wasn't as bad.
I have residual problems finding words and the tips of my fingers on my right hand feel as it they have Band-Aids on them.
I would not wish the event on anyone, now every time I cant locate a word fast enough or I have a twitch on my scalp I fear its coming back.

Exactly. It’s like being fully aware but there’s a veil between you and the rest of the world. You can’t even communicate by writing. I stayed in the “stroke ward” and some there were heartbreaking.
Hey Woody, I can sympathize, I have had 2 of them.
What you describe is spot on.
If you want to talk about it you can always DM me, I know how you are feeling.

Denis this also has some limited use depending on the situation.
Its applied like tub and shower caulk, squirt on and wipe away.
Very useful for small wing to fuselage joints.
-
Denis something like this will help you re establish a sharp corner quite fast once your initial sanding is finished.

Thanks gentlemen!

Is there such a PE product, I'd like to outfit my Mirage with flexible belts.
Ebay turned up some ancient Verlinden and Waldron stuff but was hoping for more options.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas! This is far from my best build, and the get it done imperative has definitely supplanted the make it good goal I came back to this project with, but that's OK. It'll look OK in the display cabinet when it's done, and the cats will love it. It won't be seeing a competition table, however.
So, here's the latest, after having spent a good couple of hours repairing boo boos and painting detail items:
The wing slat recesses and wheel bays were painted in RLM 02:
I also rescribed the factory panel lines into the fuselage spine and belly:
A little untidy on top, unfortunately, but it should look OK if I don't look at it.
I painted the exhausts using an old bottle of Model Master Burnt Iron I found in the paint stash, but I don't like the effect at all:
It was only meant to be a base coat for further treatment, so it can be rescued I think. Any suggestions?
Kev
Kev you know my leanings towards weathering (in my world they would be just natural metal with no heat effects ), but I'd say those look great...my eye was instantly drawn to them as well as the smooth paint finish.

@Ryan Below you have a good view on the pit bulkhead in b/w:
I am not 100% sure, but it seems to be a picture from a III C or S from the Swiss AF. You can clearly see the compartment behind the ejection seat, which, however, was not taken into account by Italerie or Revell. I am sure Nick might be of help here too, if this is related to your version.
That is an awesome picture, thank you. @CarstenB
My (painted) wiring is a bit stylized and artistic and not really based in reality.
I guessed on the wiring loom labels, glad I was somewhat on the right track!

Well this isn’t happening, this ladder is an imprecise mess. I can’t think of a better candidate for a 3D printed replacement. Having profile shots of the part will make it somewhat easy to reproduce. I use Fusion 360 and have a Creality Halot Sky printer, more details as I get it sketched up.

Getting started on the rear cockpit bulkhead, more work to go!

This would be a fun 3d print exercise.
