If I move forward, this will most definitely be a pre-order item. If it is successful (for me personally, recovering the print cost is a successful sheet), I have a maintenance data sheet almost done that would also go to print as FL18002.

I'd also consider FL18003 with two different options if both of these sheets are successful.

Both would retail for $20 each

    What say you?

Our second AH-1Z sheet will be sent to Microscale at the end of September. We are currently waiting for reference photos on the Czech Republic AH-1Z, which should arrive early next month. Sheet is 8.5 x 11 inches.

AH-1Z BuNo 169498, the tri-color scheme, is covered as it appeared with three different squadrons. HMLA-269, who originally painted it, HMLA-169 and HMLA-267. The latter being the current operators. Changes in the markings, camouflage pattern and airframe will be noted for each time period it was flown by each squadron.

These two sheets are going to Microscale this week. A second, and smaller insert for FL32008 is being finalized and will be sent to Cartograf to print. This insert will include markings for the landing gear, ejection seat, missile launchers and data placards for the fuel tanks.

Airframe data markings are based on personal photos and measurements, as well as drawings and information contained in A1-F-18AC-SRM-500, Aircraft Corrosion Control Manual for the F/A-18 Hornet.

Kit issues aside, if anyone can provide references and/or a list of what needs to be included in a conversion for a B-26K, I'm game. Main wheels are already done and I've got a pretty good team of designers helping produce new resin items. For those of you familiar with my Flying Leathernecks line, you know I don't charge stupid prices for my stuff either. If I can get the references and get the conversion out, it will be for the lowest possible price I can make it.

Dave Roof got a reaction from Zola25 in Flying Leathernecks Decals Now Owned by USMC Insignia LLC - October 24 2023
My logo with the modified Eagle, Globe and Anchor, the title MARINES, the term Flying Leathernecks used in my name, the squadron designators (VMFA(AW)-533, etc.) and squadron logos. The Trademark and Licensing office is being extremely difficult. On the bright side, a current MAG Commanding Officer sent me a message this morning asking if there was anything he could do to help. Short answer is probably not, but it's good to know there is a full bird Colonel that believes this is all bulls--t.

What really bothers me is this is a small snippet of an email that was sent from the Trademark and Licensing office to the owner of USMC Insignia a couple days ago :

"Flying Leathernecks (FL) used to be a hobbyist licensee, that license ended.--------------Reference the time Allyn spends sending us infringers, they are bad for USMC Licensees and bad for the USMC Brand.  That said, FL makes products that are good for the USMC Brand and serve the USMC community.   I’d like it if D Roof were (again) a licensee, but after reviewing the licensing standards he doesn’t believe he qualifies."

It's not that I don't believe I'd qualify, I know I don't qualify. They raised the minimum requirements and as a sole proprietor, I literally cannot meet them. Their new license standards are set up for large companies with CEO's, CFO's, production facilities, etc. I currently do too much for a new hobbyist license and I'm not big enough for a business license. However, if they acknowledge that my decals are good for the USMC brand and serve the Marine Corps community, why can't they work with me to get me licensed again!?
