It was on a documentary with a CGI representation. Both planes barrel rolling. They were close enough that the F-86 pilot said he looked into the Mig cockpit and saw the the pilot’s boot laces. Does anyone here know what documentary that was? I would like to build a model of both planes. Thanks. Lee

A kit I would like to see; the H.A.R.P. gun

I think there was a movie about Gerald Bull and Iraq’s Babylon and Baby Babylon supergun projects. I won’t go into politics, but I will say that a supergun that is permanently attached to a mountain and aimed at a neighbor’s capitol would never have fired a shot. The neighbor would have destroyed it first. -
Is the Zoukei-Mura Skyraider sold out and gone?

I stumbled across this on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/groups/modelkittradegroup/permalink/5758157260961842/ -
It looks like it’s missing a P-51 fuselage. Someone should remedy that.

Wow. If anyone would build that, it would be Lewis Pruneau. I was thinking about that gun when I wrote the OP. I have a book about the Paris Gun. It’s fascinating, even though it was a terror weapon. -
High Altitude Research Project. Experimental gun that launched a projectile 111 miles up. The idea was putting small satellites into orbit with a gun. Anyway- I think it would be a cool model.

That’s not a bad idea. I know someone who could print it.

I got a 1/24 3D printed pickup kit and ordered 2 cabs for it. I cut them up and started this. It will be lowered, crazy paint, maybe with fat single tires in back, instead of duallies.

Like better propellers, Gun pods, wheels, decals, etc. I got a Bf-109G6 for dirt cheap. Someone told the seller that no one would want it for $50 because the pilot and tail wheel are missing, and the rudder and one elevator are glued in place. I guess a collector might not want it. A model builder? You betcha. I want to repaint and detail for one of Heinrich Bartels’ Red 13s.

That F-86 book looks tempting. I may have to get one printed.

Serious idea here: 1/72 Boeing 2707
Lee in Texas replied to Lee in Texas's topic in General Discussion
Back in late 1999/early 2000, I was deployed to Macedonia. The Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff visited. His plane was a 707. It had ecm pods at the backs of the nacelles. Nice ride. -
Sure, it’s a little over 4’ long, but it would be a LICENSE TO PRINT MONEY. I mean, I’d buy one.

Yeah I like the square tail better, but both are cool. Just imagine if we had a Mach 3+ bomber hunter 70 years ago. Or if the XB-70 had gone into production, or… Oh hey- I think a Boeing 2707 would be an awesome model, also.

Man I would love to have one of these. Is it weird to say that a plane that never advanced beyond full size mock up is the coolest jet ever?

I had considered that when I was looking for good 3-view drawings; something that could be enlarged without being a giant blur. Why not? Foam and fiberglass are cheap. Make it a ceiling hanger.
