  1. Oh ye of little faith...... They said that Trumpeter would never release the A-6 and yet...... Patience is a virtue and all good things come to those who wait. Ok, I'm out of cliches now.
  2. Hi Frederick, Your F-4 looks super cool. Very neat job on the SEA scheme. Here's how she looked on your stand at Telford. Sorry to have missed you mate, we'll catch up next time eh? Cheers.
  3. Cor! Lovely stuff! That shot into the cockpit looks real. Marvellous.
  4. A few more... These figures will be available from Wings Cockpit Figures at a future time. Many thanks to David Allen for allowing me to post these here. Cheers,
  5. Hi guys, I got a reply from David Allen this morning so wanted to share the images he sent over of the new figures. These were the prototypes on the stand at Telford.
  6. Marvellous Thank you for the swift response Edgar, much appreciated. Is it the same colour for the wheel wells and cockpit? Also, are the insides of the gear doors green too? I appreciate your help, cheers.
  7. Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can tell me what colour the cockpits of the F Mk 22 Spitfires were please? Were they all green like earlier marques or had they gone to black like Sea Furys? Thanks for any help you can give. Cheers.
  8. Hi Mitch, I hope you enjoy your Duesenberg build. There is something very satisfying about returning to a kit from childhood. Warm memories and nostalgia usually make for a pleasurable experience. Whisper this quietly but I'm dabbling in 1/72nd scale stuff at present. My long term LSP project mocks me from it's vantage point but I just can't muster the enthusiasm for it at the moment. I will get back to it but for now, I'm just enjoying churning out the tiddlers (no aftermarket, no extra detailling etc, etc.) Regarding your Spitfire build, you can never have too many Spitfires. I have n't built one but I have read numerous on-line builds and from what I've seen there is no need to go far from out of the box to create a beautiful replica. Much of the extra detail that other modellers might add is generally for their own enjoyment rather out of necessity. I'm sure that you'll enjoy every moment and I hope you have the time to share the project with us when the time comes. Cheers.
  9. Truly outstanding work Peter. That cockpit and seat combo is a thing of beauty. I'm glad you enjoyed Telford. It was a pleasure catching up with you again. Your stand looked good and it was great to see you so busy. I'm looking forward to seeing more modern instruments, gauges, MFDs etc in 1/32nd scale if you decide there's a market for them. Cheers.
  10. Welcome aboard Radders. I am in awe of modellers who take virtually blank sheets of plastic and create a recognisable aircraft from them. Good luck with your project.
  11. Remarkable! These last few close-up photos really show the depth that you've created in the fabric beautifully. Superb job.
  12. Hi Eric, congrats on the promotion. I saw the HPH stand at Telford last weekend with one of these resin kits assembled and it looks great. I'm enjoying the work you've done so far, keep it up.
  13. Welcome to the forums sitzkrieg and thanks for sharing your build. Crisp work on the fuel tanks. The painting looks very realistic. These are big when built so I hope you have a spot set aside for her.
  14. Hi Paul, the latest round of photos are smashing. The contrast between the plywood shades and stark black & white of the decals looks great and really makes everything "pop". Nice choice of scheme.
  15. See Rich's photo thread here for detail shots of the Walrus and Catalina: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=41866
  16. Hi Chuck, you are in for a treat. The build is extremely pleasurable with very little to worry about. The only fit issue I discovered was the short longitudinal seam under the air intake. Care is needed here. Otherwise everything fits like a glove. Beware of paint on surfaces though as tolerances are so tight that even a thin layer of paint is enough to make things difficult in places. I'd agree that Barracuda studios cockpit placards really enhance the look of the office and are well worth investing in. I used the kit rubber tyres but I can see why others prefer resin replacements. You might consider a set of masks for the main markings too. Ian at AdAstra provided some beautiful and easy to use paint masks for my build which I can recommend. Enjoy your 'Stang.
  17. Lovely Mitchell Scotsman My favourite version too. The glass nose one would be what I'd go for but I have no space for one of these big beasties. Thanks for taking the time to post up the photos Colin, it's been a pleasure to see.
  18. Hi Mitch, thanks for taking the time to post the new round of largely unprocessed images. Your Spad looks super, good job. The comparison shots really show the size of the brute well. When I look at the Mustang in my display cabinet I'm not sure where I'll fit my Skyraider........just might have to fold the wings after all. So, what's next buddy? Oh, and yes, the Raiden looks amazing. I saw the test shots at Telford and the detail is just as incredible as all of the other ZM offerings. Cheers.
  19. Cool! This should make for entertaining viewing That detail does look eye-wateringly good. If only someone would do the same with modern jet subjects...... Good luck with your project Brian.
  20. Hi Dave, thanks for the heads-up. Tamiya brought it to Telford last weekend. It looks good.
  21. Hi Wolf, that should give you something to get your teeth into once the Spit is complete. Not the same type of aeroplane but here is a bit of inspiration on rigging and the translucent doped linen effect for you from the recent UK Nats..... Good luck with your project, I look forward to seeing how you tackle it.
  22. Hi Jerry, I missed you at Telford. I swung by the Grey Matters stand a couple of times on my way round but you were out and about. Glad to see you enjoyed the show and your stay in Blighty. The model was enormous, even in 1/72nd scale. All corrugated skinning too, very impressive. Is it a real aeroplane or is it a model of some fictional bomber? I remember seeing a website of fantastical CGI/Photoshop aircraft and this resembles one of them...... Cheers. Edit* I was thinking of this one http://www.hoax-slayer.com/images/K7-heavy-bomber-3.jpg
  23. Telford was superb this year. It was probably the best show that I've attended even if I did n't find any bargains on this occasion. Iain, your stand looked great. So many wonderful LSPs all in one spot. "Connie" is massive! I drifted by but everyone was so busy chatting and there was so much to see that I did n't stop too long. Sorry I missed everyone but I'll try harder next time. I also snapped as many LSP's as possible and I'll start a seperate thread when I've finished processing them. Glad everyone had such a good time. Now it's time to start planning for the next one......
  24. I agree with Jeroen, they are mind blowing. The detail has to be seen to be believed. The test shots were just plain beautiful. I think they are planning seated crew too Andy. The sculptor is working on the next two. From talking to David Allen today I gather that he has plans for quite a few Great War figures plus more WWII figures, possibly some Russian as well as German and Japanese. He already has two Russian women pilots plus seated RAF pilots in addition to the pilot exiting his machine. The two US airmen are in a relaxed standing pose from what I recall. Unfortunately, my camera battery died just before I discovered the figures on the MDC stand. However, Mr. Allen has agreed to send me a couple of images when he gets a minute, later this week possibly. If he does, I'll post them here with his permission. There are no current plans for more contemporary modern figures of any description.....boo.....{~pouting emoticon with bottom lip out~} TBH, even if you don't build aircraft from the eras he is offering it will be worth buying the figures as stand alone models in their own right. They are AMAZING!!
  25. Iain Ogilvy...aka......Billy Whizz! Cracking progress Iain T minus 38.5 hours and counting.........
