  1. You're grasping at straws.  Fact is, the putty is portrayed incorrectly.  I understand that nobody wants to criticize this particular modeler, but wrong stuff is wrong.  Period.  Putty was applied to smooth the finish of an aircraft...not roughen it up.  Even if the putty had not yet been sanded, the rivets would be covered.  Just stop!

  2. That is a fantastic build!  Far better than anything I could accomplish.  I do have 2 observations though...

Is Red 7 correct?  Or is it Blue 7?  Maybe just one of those things open to interpretation!

I believe your flap position indicator decals are in the wrong place.

  3. This looks fantastic with some superior paintwork!  Just one question though...is the seam in the vertical stabilizer where you choose between old or tall tails supposed to still be visible?

ETA...my bad...looks like it is supposed to be there!  Should've done a little research prior to opening my mouth!

  4. Howdy Gents...

I'm starting a new build in the next week or so and just wanted to get some opinions on my choice of paint schemes.  Some of you may have read that my Trumpy Bf109G-10 is on the back burner due to my lack of due diligence in researching my subject.  This time however I want to get things right!  I've chosen Yellow 8 of JG77 and just wanted to get your opinions on the paint and markings.  In my research I've only found one photo and 3 profiles for this bird which are shown below.  This plane is w.n. 330176, which is very close to JG 77's Herbert Hackler's mount with w.n. 330196, also shown.  I'll probably change the callout of RLM 76 for the fuse to the duck egg color, but everything else should be close to the profiles.  Please let me know if you think I'm way off base with what I want to do.  Thanks so much, Guys!

  5. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement on this one, I really appreciate it! And thanks for the offer of decals Martin, but I think I'll put this one on the back burner for a bit. All you guys make this a great place to spend some time! I think I'll tackle the Trumpy Bf109K-4 in the stash next. I'll do a full WIP on that one.

  6. Hi martin...

Thanks for all the info you're providing on my build.  There really is no substitute for adequate research I'm finding out!  I've never been a rivet counter, but it would be nice if the manufacturer provided at least something CLOSE in the way of paint and markings!  This build might just be relegated to the shelf until I decide how I want to proceed.  I may just finish it as is and do another proper one to show just how messed up manufacturers can sometimes be!

Any more info on this plane you may have Martin would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

    Regards,

  7. Hi Everyone...

Long time member but new poster. I'm currently working on my second LSP after building German armor for a couple years. I've recently returned to the hobby after a 30 year hiatus.

I'm working on Trumpeter's 1/32 Bf109G-10 and using the included painting guide and decals to model "white 9" found at Praha-Kbely in 1945. I have my painting mostly done but I don't know if I'm happy with it. Would you guys mind giving me your opinions on my paintjob? I have pretty thick skin so please be honest...thank you! Looking forward to being a more active member of this community! Sorry for the crappy pics...

    Dave
