  1. Wow, looking very nice indeed! The very first fighter to have what we now refer to as a “HOTAS” Hands On Throttle And Stick - full engine throttle control including prop governor and radio comms and weapons selection, weapons guarding and trigger. A very useful and modern system that we still see today in modern fighters. I have a pre-order in for this bird! Cheers Alan
  2. Well Pete, if your wingman told us that you were always a dollar short and a day late back in the day - I probably wouldn't have believed him until now!! Hope you can get that short business sorted! Cheers Alan
  3. Man, not to hijack the tread, but Mike over at Phase has some really nice stuff. I just put an order in for a few thigns! Thanks for the plug Back to the Baz build now! Cheers Alan
  4. Damn, nice work Pete! I love the cockpit! Cheers Alan
  5. Nice review Kevin. I have one on pre-order! Looking forward to it! Cheers Alan
  6. Curious what makes it so light? Is it striped of gear and other stuff, or is the airframe a one off with different alloys? Cheers Alan
  7. Pete, ya crack me up buddy!! Cheers Alan
  8. Damn! What a beauty! I love this version of the P-38 and wish Tamiya would scale up their 1/48 kit!! Awesome finish!! I love it! Cheers Alan
  9. Any update when Italeri will release this kit? I really cant wait!!! Cheers Alan
  10. Great adventure Pete! Glad you arrived safely! Beautiful country!! I miss that part of the world! Cheers and safe flights brother! Alan
  11. I am looking forward to getting and building the B version - just because it is so unique… as Pete already mentioned, I thought we learned our lesson(s) in Vietnam? An internally mounted airframe gun should be part of every new design… but, then again Vietnam also taught us about the benefits of two engines… but technology has improved! Am I to understand this correctly that the A version of the F-35 is the only airframe that has an internally mounted canon? The other two versions, B and C just carry external canon when needed? Is it for weight savings? I don’t think I would want to be in the sharp end of a modern fighter without the last resort of an internally mounted canon! A good friend who was in the Canadian Forces, used to incept Russian Tu long range aircraft over the high arctic in Canada and escort them south for the hand off to the US said that he always trailed them while the lead lead the way south, and he said it was comforting to know that the Russians also knew his F-18 had a canon in the nose… An interesting development… but, as I understand it, the F-35 is designed to engage enemy aircraft outside of their sensor range… in theory!!?? Cheers Alan
  12. Nice! Wishing safe flights Pete! I was based a few seasons in Ft St. John when I flew the heavy tankers during fire season! Cheers Alan
  13. Nice! I was used to seeing my AOA index through the HUD, tucked in nicely to the left of the airspeed tape! But, having it out front like that is a nice touch! Awesome video! Cheers Alan
  14. Some nice stable mates there! Is that Hawk a privately owned one? Wow!! I like the video of the touch & go too! Nice! Gotta ask - what is the device up on the dash with the green and yellow… I have never seen anything like it before? Nice glass layout too… Cheers Alan
  15. Amazing! Really great work and attention to detail Bekim! Cheers Alan
  16. All I can think about when I see these great inventions is how ironic it is that they have their genesis in some of the darkest chapters of human history!
  17. Damn! I might need to get one of these! Cheers Alan
  18. Any update on when we might see this kit arrive on the market? Cheers Alan
  19. This is just amazing! I have always loved this aircraft, I have flown commercial and aerial firefighting seaplanes for a living in my career and I am partial to anything that floats! The level of detail and the ability to now design and print in whatever scale you want is truly taking our hobby to a different level! Thanks for sharing this with us! Will you be offering us a kit at some point? Cheers Alan
  20. Hi Pete! Can’t you get a bladder into the rear seat area? We use a bladder to give us an extended 14 hour range on the Twin Otter and it works like a charm to get ferries done! I read once that there are custom bladders that fit seats and as the fuel is used they collapse upon themselves. I would assume though, that you guys dont have the plumbing up front to reach the rear fuselage/wing tanks? Sounds like a great trip up north though! Enjoy! Cheers Alan
  21. Damn, that looks great!! I can’t wait to get a few of them!! Cheers Alan
  22. An upscale sure would be nice! That would be nice in 1/32 - but, I won’t complain about a new tool 1/48 scale!! Cheers Alan
