Hi Silver(ian) people out there!
I want to submit a strange subject, as little known now as many times watched in Usa on mid '30, the Caproni Ca113. This is the sole left of the mythical I-MARY, flown by Tenente (Lt.) Tito Falconi, italian Regia Aeronautica pilot and recordman of "upside-down" flight (more than 2 Hr!); and here a gently walkaround to honour that era! http://s251.photobuc...Caproni Ca 113/

That is one sweet looking aeroplane, especially with that paint job. I'll buy one of those!
The Italians had many forward thinking airplane designers back in the 1920-1945 era. They were really advancing the art and the industry.
However, flying upside down for two hours, well, I get a headache just thinking about it.

Ye Stephen!
I had been a private pilot and tried to fly upside-down with a magnific Zlin 526 (with the great aerobatic pilot Sergio Dallan!) and after less than 1 minute that way my stomach and head where very calling for any... help!

Such an attempt at setting a record seems silly to many of us today but back in those says many people were trying to set records of all types. In the USA people were setting records for sitting at the tops of flagpoles for many days and weeks. Also there were dance contests where couples tried to dance continuously for days on end. It was kind of a silly era, although the world wide depression put a damper on most peoples' fun. Or maybe these record attempts were the peoples' reaction to the misery caused by the depression. Who knows? But I still get a headache just thinking of flying upside down for more than a minute.

There was just recently a Planet Models kit of the Caproni released in 1/48, getting one in 1/32 would be pretty sweet as well, it was also used by a few South American air forces as well.

Great article. The new Planet Models kit comes with Peruvian markings, I'm tempted to pick it up, but if there's a possibility of one in 1/32, that would be even better! I'd pick that up for sure!
