This is for my son's room. It's OOB and I'll be using decals for 'Blondie' from the Tamiya kit (these were given to me). It will have the pilot figure from the Hasegawa P-47 kit. I got this in a trade and the prior owner rescribed a bunch of the fuselage lines. I'm just leaving it as-is.

Wow, you almost never see one of these kits built anymore. Brave build Lee! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Thanks Kevin! This one is really not worth the trouble by and large but I traded for it to make a quick build and hang in my boy's room. Thanks for the kudos, sir.

I'm hurt  Kev.....

Yes its a horrible kit, with lots of errors....but I just love the Revellstangs (and judging by the prices of them lately on the Bay....they are making a comeback)

Have fun Lee!!

(Are you "fixing" the seat armor and headrest...It looks gone in the second to last photo. IMO that and the IP are the worst parts of the "D" kit)

No corrections at all, Lou. OOB except for the decals and Hasegawa pilot. Thanks for the kudos!

I hope he is, Lou...he'll be three years old in November. Here he is with the Mustang week before last while I finished the build in Destin FL while on vacation.

Got the paint on my son's Revell 1/32 P-51D this afternoon. The OD is Testors right out of the rattle can. The red and silver are Dupli-color automotive paint with Dupli-color white primer under the red. Overall I am happy with it. Only one little bit od OD bled over onto the red and I got it taken care of. Not seen is the spinner which is also red. I'll have the markings done tonight and hang it in his room tomorrow. :) I figure the Dupli-color will hold up better under his hands to 'zoom' it around the room when we get it down from time to time.

Thanks all! My cutting mat was a gift from a friend he bought from Micro-Mark and it's by Hobbico. It's geared more for R/C stuff but it works fine for me.

So, done save for the pilot and the control stick. Not too bad really and pretty flashy which ought to get my son's attention when he sees it tomorrow (he's away at a family function with the missus and his Gram). Decals are a combination of Tamiya, early 1990s Revell B model and the mid 1980s kit decals. They all behaved nicely but I forgot that nasty white glue/film from Revell/Monogram decals from back in the day. UGH. The Dupli-color will hold up just fine after all of the handling I did tonight to get the decals on...should be good for a near-3 year old!
