Finally getting down to the "short rows" with the dio for the HK B-25.....last thing is how to finish the edges, which was going to be a bit of a challenge since its' not a single level base.
Cruised into Lowe's in search of either some thin formica (counter top material), or some type of flexible trim from the millwork dept. As luck would have it, had to pass through the flooring material area & spied several huge rolls of thin (cheapo) vinyl tile.....found a marbled pattern that I figured would look ok....scored a 4" X 160" slice for next to nothing......got back home....made the measurements & cuts....(measure 3 times, cut once)...applied with 'Liquid Nail'.
This material works easily & with a careful touch of an Exacto, you can follow pretty much any contour.

HTH....
Happy modeling,
Jim

Jim
Perfect solution to the problem and a 'natural' in color and texture.
Diorama looks just awesome.

Excellent edging solution, probably the best I've seen. Outstanding diorama and Mitchell, Jim.

Best Regards,

D.B.

BTW, what paint did you use for the O.D.?

Synthetic Authentics

Thanks D.B.!....glad ya like it....
The OD is actually "Green Drab"..FS34086....MM#1787....very few drops of standard Olive Drab added to tone it down a bit.
Hope this helps....

Roughly 33"X25".....bird fits in the display case nicely......dio slides & fits under the case with 'Saran Wrap' gently draped over it for storage.
Where there's a will there's a way....;)

Pecking away on 35th scale PT boat now.....figuring a dio for that one as well....will use the blue-grey vinyl flooring trick on it also....

Happy modeling,
Jim
