Here is my first complete Sea Fury - there is a major boo boo in that the flaps are both down as I was going to build this with wings folded but changed my mind. The only problem being that I had used the additional Fisher folded wing set without realised that the flaps where cast down (as is correct for folded wings). Live and learn!

crobinsonh,

Just simply WOW!

The colors are just wondrous, Looks pristine and yet scattered with nice subtle weathering and scuffed marks.

AWESOME looking Sea Fury.

Bravo.

Sensational Colin! Really looks superb. Can I use it for an article? I can either pinch your photos from here for an RFI-style gallery, or you could put something together for a proper build article. What do you think?

Awesome!

I really like the weathering and paint a lot. Exhaust is really well done too. Only one minor nitpick, (as long as you didnt already glue them) is you might want to think about re-posing one of your ailerons to reflect opposites instead of flap style.

Great build and congrats, you should be well pleased.

One of my all time favorite aircraft and you've certainly done it justice! Too bad about the aileron positions though. I really wish Brian Fisher had supplied the ailerons as separate pieces. It would have given you an easy option for folded or extended wings. I plan on having my wings folded on my build but just the same, separate ailerons would have been nice.

Cheers,
Wolf

Thanks everyone for your comments. It was a silly mistake by me for not making the right decision and therefore getting myself into a hole on the ailerons.

I copied the exhaust painting from a spread of photographs of the Royal Navy's historic flight Sea Fury. That way I hope I got the right look! It took several attempts and a repaint of the fuselage at one point :BANGHEAD2:

Kev, more than happy to do a build artlcle I just need to check what I have and will need a couple of weeks as I am heavily involved in The Buccaneer Aviation Group over in the UK (we have three live Buccaneers at Bruntingthorpe) and we have a Cold War Jets day next weekend - which means lots of work before then on getting everything prepped etc.

Understood. No rush, just whenever you can; it will be greatly appreciated.
