Which kits are you speaking of? The F-16B has been released as far as I know but it suffers from the same inaccuracies as does their F-16C. The F-18C and D have been available for years now. Other than those, I'm not familiar with any other releases.

Academy's due to release a 32nd F/A-18A and a Block 40 F-16CG.

The 32nd F/A-18A will obviously have the new vertical tails, but that's probably about it; same basic kit.

The F-16CG is teh same as the original F-16CG/CJ kit, though with the updated main wheels (still wrong BTW), glare shield (both from the F-16I kit, which are still not quite right BTW) and a WAR HUD, which doesn't look all that accurate. A new decal sheet comes with, which is good as not all of those Viper subjects have been covered in 32nd.

Obviously the terribly shaped intakes and other major inaccuracies will still be present in baseline kit.
Corrected intakes, gear doors, and wheels would be nice for this kit.

They say Osan, Kunson, Aviano and Misawa. This is for the F-16. The F-18A has markings for VMFA -232.

That's a letdown. Osan, Kunsan, and Misawa are already available in the first kit.

I was hoping for some ANG markings.

Not the checker board Osan tail flash, though still not much interest for non PACAF fans. With other Block 40/50 markings, to do, why repeat vertuially the same???

I don't know about the F-16, but I hope the decal guys will take the new F-18A in consideration and upscale their F-18A Adversary sheets. Oh and the black/white D'skunk jet...that will totally rock in 1/32.

For those of you that haven't seen this decal sheet...Afterburner decals did this jet in 1/48.
