Omega actually do the two-seater courier/artillery spotter two-seater (with the observer having a gun) in resin, in 1/72nd scale. I'm very tempted to buy it. I never thought about someone tackling this in 1/24th scale - now that would be something to see. Regarding Soviet adaptations of the Hurricane, they also removed the .303's on some and replaced them with two 20mm ShVAK cannons and two Berezin 12.7mm machine guns; again, another instance of the Soviet liking for powerful guns. As far as the Mosquito, I know the Soviets got their hands on at least one, but sad to say I haven't investigated what they thought about/did with it (yet).
Regards,
Jason
Hi Jason Yep it would be cool - think I need to hone some skills before I tackle something like that!!! I had a look at the 1:72 model a while back - nice. Amazes me the large round ones the gunner needed to get in the back with that big hole at his feet and nothing around him!!!!
There was a picture of the Mossie bound for Russia in one of the books I used for the one I made. But it was in the UK and didn't have much info other than it was sent to them! And a date - I think!
Thanks for looking in and happy modelling - Taff

Can you forge Capitalist bank notes with your komputer?
Hi Dave - I have tried to undermine these capitalist banks on several occasions - but my resent plan for the Euro seems to be barring fruit!
Or I might just stick to the day job of making pretty pictures!

The days off went well if not to plan, nowt new there!!!!!
Got my weathering finished on the top and matt clear on – Yippee on to the final straight. Final push to the tap. I put the spinner on.

Next up the exhaust stacks.
Plan what plan!
As I pushed them into the holes on the plate I had put in. The glue on the bottom edge gave way so as you push the plate it just moves up and into the fuselage. Should have put a bit of cross bracing in - hind sight and all that!
So cup of tea and biscuit time!!!

Okay tea and biscuit worked – There is a rod that goes through each stack so I used this to glue them together and the engine to line everything up.

After they had nice long time to dry. They where still a bit flimsy so carfully I cut the plastic pin of the backs and rubbed them flat and stuck them on and lined them up by eye. Looks okay to me.

Bit of a side profile with all the tape and maskol off and the props done.

Okay at the picture limit I think so will be back in a mo with some more

You are all excited and then you remember the pitot tube
Paint it stick it on then promptly knock it off
Quick take a picture before I knock it off again

The final bit – can’t believe it I have made it!!!
I spin some thin electrical wire strands together. Painted with a mix of light gray and aluminium – After it had dried I stuck to the tail first then the aerial and finally the last bit the aircraft.
Enough said – couple of pictures of her all dirty and ready to go.

Thanks for looking in and all the help and encouragement – I hope you like her. I know the heavy weathering wont appeal to everyone? But these where worked very hard at Kuban battle
I have done a few more pictures tonight so will hope to post the finished ones soon.
Happy Modelling comrades - Taffski
