Derek, PM me your street address and I'll send it to you in a few days in it's entirety! The article isn't huge; it's really an adjunct to their Whirlwind article, but the photos are outstanding.
Regards,
Ross

That's pretty cool Ross ...PM sent.

Cheers

Derek :P

Hey Derek, I've got Scale Aircraft Modelling from September 1992 (v14, issue 12), which has some Welkin stuff. I can provide scans if you're interested. There's not that much in there, but it all helps I guess.

Thank you Bryan - I am waiting for MDC to produce some 20mm ammunition belts before I can complete the Tempest wing any further, but that may not be at the top of MDC's priority list at present! (I am still doing work on it when I can, but other patterns will be completed first - like the Beaufighter and Corsair sets).

Cheers

Thanks Erwin :P

More progress. I have been waiting for the glue to dry on the wing centre section laminations for the last couple of days (I did not have sufficient balsa wood, so I had to splice the off cuts from the outer wings to make up the shortfall in the wing centre section. The plan profile is now cut and shaped. Next comes the tedious job of tapering the wings, and shaping them to the correct aerofoil shape before skinning with plastic card.

Nice one Dave - I look like some kind of very dodgy kit seller!

After tapering the wing sections, I found that I had taken fractionally too much off the wing centre section taper, so I shall be gluing some more balsa to the bottom of the wing, and I shall re-sand/file it to the correct taper. I then ned to make some wing chord cross-section (aerofoil) templates, then I cam begin to shape the wings (slightly undersize of course, to allow for the plastic sheet skinnig).

Cheers
