I got bupkis.
But that's OK. I have too much stuff already and am trying to sell a lot of it off.

I seldom buy anything these days. I am too busy trying to make things and the recession has torpedoed my finances.

My wife got me the VFS 1/24 scale T Bolt. Last month, I got a 1/12 scale 1937 Cord. It was an old kit from AMT. Oh yeah, and lots of paint, glue and brass.

Hey, what's the difference between an ex wife and a buzzard? At least the buzzard waits until you're dead before it eats your heart out.

Hmmph! ;)
Obviously the rivets are way oversize, the Deuz fasterers are all wrong and the color is the wrong shade of white. It will never win an IPMS contest. Also where is the weathering? Where are the chips of paint missing so you can see the aluminum showing through? Where are the streaks of burnt oil smearing up the sides of the cowl and fuselage? :P
Nope! Doesn't look prototypical. It doesn't even have a tail wheel. ;)
I'm sorry but I know, I once read an old issue of Stale Modeler from cover to cover. Well, I looked at the pictures anyway. It was in my outhouse and was the only reading material available, when it wasn't being used for the obvious.
Oh well, back to the P-51 and the counting of the rivets. One, two, three.... :P

Stephen
at home i keep it in hanger to hide it from most panel line checkers :P . this pix is from trip to Myrtle beach,i didn't tell IPMS judges it was there ;) . it had new paint & engine overhaul in 2003, oil not leaking on wings and cowl yet. ;) the tail wheel feel off in hard landing.(any landing you walk away from is a good one :o ) the rivots were replaced by Tamiya ;) , so it is a Tamiya F-4 fixer panel :ph34r:not my fault . it's a 1965 model, so bad early molds. not new correct casting. had to hide guns, so carbon on wings has to be cleaned on landing :P :P i guess i'll use it to get to IPMS nats, i just won't enter it.

just so ya know!

Great news,Matty! This piccie was taken after I had met Steve(Wumm), and watched him single-handedly wrestle, and subdue a bottle of Gentleman Jack. The large white vehicle in the background is mattys, and we put a lot of KMs on it!

Glen, wish i could say the same about this one, but i get along with it mostly, safe for the very poor T/O performance (it's a 135 HP diesel......), but it is a rental, but i won't complain considering all the costs in my country to own a plane....

keep the blue side up...

only 135 hp? does it climb like a brick? mine started life as a PA-24-400 now it has a 360TC conversion. the 400Hp engine drank 16 to 24 GPH the Dr. that had it before me had it converted to a 360TC lyc. 6 cylinder that cruises the same as 400 8 cylinder did but at 12 to 18 GPH. so i have the 400 ext fuel tanks, with a much better GPH ratio. range is now 35 to 40% better then most Comanche's. now 1300 miles with 45 min reserves with 800lb of useful load. it's lots of fun. hope to use it a lot more next year, as no payment anymore. maybe more time to travel.

later glen

Scratchbuilders Boulton Paul Defiant...sure it'll take some work but hey,it's still a 1/32 BP Defiant...and it didn't run me a fortune either...oh,and a new Webber BBQ...the Cadillac!

I must be the only person in the world who does not have an outdoor barbeque.
I used to have one and put up with all that trouble cleaning it each time. Yech.
Then I would dump some pre-burnt wood pieces (charcoal briquettes) in the thing, soak it with JP-7 Jet fuel, stand back and toss a flaming torch on it. Once I brought down a low flying Piper Cub with the resultant blast. It was OK because the plane was old and tired and heavily insured so the pilot joined us for dinner and described the Cessna he would buy with the compensation he would get.
Once I had the charcoal glowing nicely I would put the meat on the grill. The hamburgers and hot dogs cooked very rapidly. Burnt to charcoal on the outside and rare inside. Yam.
But I would put chicken breasts on the grill too and that did not work. It took forever to cook the chicken and it ended up burnt to a carcinogenic crispy on the outside and raw on the inside. Try to eat that!
Then I knew what to do. I would put the raw chicken in the microwave and nuke it until it was cooked through and through. Then I would take them outside and put them on the grill so they could get a nice outer layer of a burnt carcinogenic skin.
Yam.
Fortunately, one day my wife and both children announced that they had become vegetarians. I was joyous! I could not wait to smash that metal bowl flat. Then to the dump it went. No more caveman type cooking outdoors! Back to the state-of-the-art electric range and oven and a microwave. State of the art is good. By this time the wood picnic table had pretty much rotted away. It was fake redwood. Pine painted red. But I got it second hand for $10 and got 15 years use of out it so I did not care. Another coat of red paint and it was a good as new. But it finally rotted away and was disposed of. Then the children grew older and lost interest in things like looking for Easter eggs on Easter morning. Enjoy the children when they are young. They grow up too soon. Example, for my daughter’s sweet sixteen birthday present she wanted to see a Mac 10 up close. So I took her to a local gun show and showed her the Uzi, Mac 10 and all sorts of wonderful toys. I even bought her a pineapple grenade from WW2. She treasures it even today. I also gave her my butterfly knife and she soon became even faster than I in whipping the blade out.
Ah, nostalgia.
