Kinetic's F-86 has some really nice points to it..but there lurks some nasties as well canopy just doesn't cut it..lacking the curves.so mastered a new one and vac formed it.

The nose was my biggest concern..WT???

So why are you doing it you ask? Because of the surface detail and the proper cockpit dimensions.Have a feeling this will look more the part than Hasegawa's offering when it's parked.
Tom did get one thing right..looks OK straight out of the box, well...if you don't get too close.
This last pic is something I've been chipping away at for a while..but I'll let someone else go there...PS. they look really nice in place cause now you can see everything. more to come.Cheers all.

The F-86 is one of those planes that deserves every effort to be made to look right, and you're certainly doing her proud. Beautiful castings, enhanced by excellent photography. More, more, more!

Nicely done Sabre parts. I also like the Arado 234 canopy (of course, they are OK for personal use only wink.gif ) Between you and me blink.gif , my original intention was to make the Arado clear parts in vacform, but as many of you remember, that managed to blow up a stink in the Arado thread (some posts even had to be deleted because they became personal) when I mentioned what I intended to do. As a result, I had to go for the "popular option" of clear resin. My next kit will have vacformed clear parts.
I think that the next problem will be that the internal frames will not fit inside the vacform parts and that may be harder to fix (a total rebuild is actually necessary).

Thanks Radu.
Yup..the "internals" are going to be Evergreen strip,a lot more fiddly work and time but hopefully worth the effort....Remember to make the "Popular Option"your own Radub, that way you don't dissapoint anyone.

Bill I'm sure that plenty of MDC Arado owners would like to have a set of your vac parts. They look better than the resin bits but then again they're a bit thinner than the resin.Great bits for a great kit.Again well done my friend...cheers

Well...Hmmmm....might just be able to do that, just as soon as I compute the thickness of the Evergreen strip to be added to the forward and side supports.nothing a modeler with a modecom of experience couldn't handle.

That would be an interesting update set for someone wanting to try a different approach with the 234 office area.Might be a good market for it...

Wow...thats some great work modifying the parts. Way to go. Thanks for posting piccies like this. The canopies look excellent. What material are you using for your suck downs and the masters? The canopies look wonderfully clear. Will look forward to more.

Cheers Matty
