I popped down to see Roy at Panther on Wednesday to pick up my Firefly. Whilst i was there i picked up the Sea Vixen. This kit isnt due out yet but i took the basic kit only without the Resin parts. I have been waiting for this model since i first saw it when i bought a Skyraider from him. I love the Sea Vixen and i want to get it right so i may take a while doing this. I may also scratchbuilt the interior and undercarriage.
I got the plans enlarged from the Warpaint book and used them. The outline looks good

I did notice that to my eyes the intake splitter plates (not sure if thats what theyre called) were too wide. I think that they are slightly less pronounced than the kit so i have altered them to my tastes.

I have filled them and reshaped them . Its all been alot of fun at the moment i must say. Im very grateful for having a 32nd scale vixen too.

Heres the last of my progress today. Ive cut out the cockpit locations and side window. Ive also added the bulged navigators roof fairing. It needs blending in a little. This wasnt on all Sea Vixens. Im pleased with my splitters too. I may start the basic cockpit tomorrow.

Heres all of the main parts laid out. I cant wait to get this in one piece , but i need to build the cockpit first. The tailplane is resin.

Here is a shot of it next to my Fisher Sea Fury for scale.
