Ahhhhh, the babes lined up! Sweet, man, great looking ships. Is the orange tail "Tarheel Hal?"

I cannot wait until I clear my bench of all things un-thunderbolt. I've got this 109, an Azur Dewo for a client, and then I'm going to start working on my 21st Century Toys Razorback in 1/18!!!!

Keep up the good work, and post more pics of the bolts as you go!

The orange tailed one is not Tarheel Hal, it's this one with the also orange cowling and the donkey nose art named "That's Unass", don't know much about this ship, perhaps some can help with some infos 'bout pilot or a source for a photo?....but Tarheel Hal is planned for some day in future when I finally get a airbrush
cheers

By the way Chris,

I'd love to see some detail on your technique to drop the flaps on the old Revell. I've done it but my method didn't produce enough detail in the flap actuators for my taste...what did you do?

Cheers~

Sorry Chris, didn't see your last response.......'bout the flaps: on the first Jug (Ernestyne) I cutted the flaps out of the upper and lower wings, glued them together and filled the upper half - which is too short - with a two-component filler and then sanded, sanded, sanded.....
At "No guts" I formed new flaps from one piece of aluminium sheet by bending it over the stick of a brush, glued the neds together with epoxy and only had to cut and sand the it for the correct outer shape....much better result. Will take some pics of this and some other technics I found out to make those old REVELL Jugs looking accurate ( found a great trick to get good looking service panels!)
Hope this helps

Et voila!.......here she is, just put the canopy on and mounted the navigation-light glasses. My two cents.....one of the most beautyful paint shemes on a Bubbletop- Thunderbolt! Will send a photostory when she's finally standing on her base including a few building tips to make this old REVELL molds look like a Jug....bah......who needs a new Jug-mold?....ok...just kidding....
enjoy

Ohhhh yeah baby!

Now you are making some serious machines! This makes me want to toss all the rot of my bench and make all 4 Jugs in my closet at once! I was going to do "No Guts" as well, but you've beat me to it  Any Rutman stuff on these Thunderbolts?

Also, did you make decals for this ship? If so, would you share the artwork? I've got nose art about 2/3 done for this ship, but I got side tracked with the Trump 109 and that Hurri.

The flaps look great. Can you spare a shot of the belly showing the dropped flaps from underneath?

Cheers and beers mate!

Jugs in my closet eh..... ;)
