tchwrma
Obant, thanks! Very nice work on the P&W. Just wondering if you are you going to paint the ignition wires?Peter I not intended to paint those wires, because they are in the color that the real ones was on the pictures that I used to detail the engine. Btw, I found several colors of wires, in the various pictures of th P&W. I just choose this one, by the picture:Thanks, Paulo. tchwrma
Thanks, folks! Now the updates: Now, we will start the wings assembly. This kit have movable wings, with control surfaces also movable. To do this the kit have lots of small pieces and some structures to get all functional and still retaining the real aspect. So then after painting the pieces, I started the wing assembly. This kit have hinges made in PE, a little more thick than regular PEs, because all the control surfaces are movable. Here the parts that will make up the wing: Here, a wing dry-fit. All the pieces have a good fit. No troubles on this: And the elevators glued: Now, I can no longer avoid mounting the gear structure, who have a lot of problems. But this will be in the next post.... tchwrma
So let's go to the Gear housing... .I discovered in a web research that this was the worst part of the kit. Then as showed by the master Rodney Williams in his Wildcat article http://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/WW2/RodneyWilliams/F4F/F4F-****/Cockpit.php , The kit have a trouble here. These Rodney's pictures will show better than me: So I did the same in my kit: The differences is that I replaced some parts with stirene rods, to allow the piecs to go to the right position. The assembly will be painted and wheatered, before be glued to the kit. Bye!
