Hi Paul,

I will ask the same question than Chuck: I will need an AF and a Navy one: should I wait for a combo set?

Thanks

Thierry

Good question! I had not thought of that....The cockpits and  other details of the Navy ships are quite different than the USAF A-1E, I planned to issue a few detail sets to allow for the more  esoteric versions. I will have to try and figure it out.

My wife, who packs all the kits will KILL me if I try and get her to do AF and Navy ships at the same time....She's already confused by Skyray and Skyraider.....A natural blonde !

The info on the Fisher website says the conversion is suitable for both Trumpeter and Z-M kits, but is any of them better than the other for using as a base kit?

And does it matter if an H or J is used as a base?

Edit: I just went back in the thread (always a good idea to do before posting 🙄) and it seems Trumpeter is a wise choice.

Just ordered the double kit!

Another superb rendition from FM&P, I guess I'll need yet another donor kit now!

Time for a Raider build fest in 2018 I think!!!

Happy days.

Don't just talk about it, build it!

Paul - I know you mentioned the Susie won't be wild about packing both an AF and Navy kit in the same package - but if that is what we are going to get at what point do you think the Navy bird will be available and if we are going to want that specific double configuration should we wait to place the order rather than ordering now?  Thanks so much for such a beautiful product.

Jerry

It seems some of us are interested in the AF/Navy combo... :-) Think about it Paul and let us know what we should do (wait or not). Thanks!

Paul,

I have placed an order for the double kit but.......if you are going to offer a AF/USN combo I would want to wait for that.

I have a friend that I owe a big favor to and he wants the USN version.

Cheers,

Barry

Shooting for January / February, but it will depend on workload and decal print times. It's truly amazing how much different stuff there is in a Navy ship compared to and Air Force bird...And then there's all the electronic equipment too.Yikes!

Oh, and just to be clear....If the airplane you want to build had the scabbed on armor, use the Trumpy A-1H as the armor plate is on the lower wing, although to be accurate you need to knock off all the giant bolt heads and countersink holes there.

If your airplane did not have the armor, get the blue AD-1 kit as it is clean. Not all ships had the armor added, mostly the electronics birds flew without it but early AF planes can be seen without it too. Very confusing stuff!
