Hubert Boillot
Thanks for the comprehensive out-of-box review, K2. And to Thierry for the tweaks list. In as much as I would be interested in a Thud, the current asking prices combined with all the needed mods have refrained me from taking the plunge Hubert Harold and LSP_K2
Tony T
Great review. Note that the "real deal" photo depicts a Thunderstick II modified jet, with the enlarged spine. Tony LSP_K2
ziggyfoos
Learned something new... I never even knew Hobbycraft boxed Trumpeter kits. Swatto and LSP_K2
LSP_K2
This may help in clarifying some questions: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=40546 Thierry Thanks, Thierry. Between your tweak list and my general observations, hopefully we've covered it fairly well. Interesting that the Trumpeter kit has weapons stencils, as the Hobbycraft kit has none at all. LSP_K2
Great review. Note that the "real deal" photo depicts a Thunderstick II modified jet, with the enlarged spine. Tony Thanks. I knew the spine was not standard, but it was the best photo I could find of the tail (without spending gobs of time on the web).
LSP_K2
Learned something new... I never even knew Hobbycraft boxed Trumpeter kits. Yes, they actually did quite a few; Both F-105's, P-38L, MiG-15 bis, MiG-17F, F4U-1D, P-40, F4F-4, and perhaps a few others as well, I'd need to look into that. is it windy yet?
Yes, they actually did quite a few; Both F-105's, P-38L, MiG-15 bis, MiG-17F, F4U-1D, P-40, F4F-4, and perhaps a few others as well, I'd need to look into that. Hobbycraft also boxed the 1:24th Trumpter kits too. LSP_K2
RNoAF
But do any shops sell it? I cant find the 1/32 F-105 anywhere.....
LSP_K2
But do any shops sell it? I cant find the 1/32 F-105 anywhere..... Perhaps not the Hobbycraft boxing, but the Trumpeter versions are still plentiful enough. Trumpeter F-105 RNoAF
LSP_K2
Hobbycraft also boxed the 1:24th Trumpter kits too. That's true enough. Oddly, not one of the 1:24 Hobbycraft boxings of Trumpeter kits, is listed in our database, even though there are/were several.
ROM
Nice review! Like the author, I did not find big shape issue with the kit tail comparing plastic to real pictures. What is supposed to be wrong in there? As for the MER, Eduards released those beauty. Quite cheap moreover: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/1067646-eduard-632102-mer As for the gun, I will add Master barrels: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/224816-master-am-32-029-m61-a1-vulcan-six-barrelled-rotary-20mm-cannon and some scratch... Mark P
If there is a shape problem with the vertical stabilizer, that amount of resin attributed to the aftermarket fix sitting that far aft brings other problems.Mark Proulx Edited April 18, 2018 by Mark P
