Kagemusha
More than half the price of the Italeri release - maybe the kit boxes aren't quite sooo BIG? http://www.jumbliesmodels.com/plastic-kits-c3/aviation-kits-c4/revell-1-32-dassault-mirage-iii-e-aircraft-model-kit-p13487 Stevepd, Tony T, Daniel Leduc and 2 others
Tony T
Thanks for the heads-up. It's too early for 1st April. If they do indeed sell for £31.90 including postage I'd be inclined to buy two or three. Such a pretty jet. I store MiGs in my existing pair of boxes due to the excess room, the IIIC acting as home for a -17PF and the IIIE/R doubling as -21MF container. The one must-do thing with the Italeri boxings is to untape the canopy parts from atop the box insert and put it underneath for safe-keeping. Revell do have a tendency to inflate box sizes (compare the ICM and Revell editions) but maybe they've finally realised big boxes are unhealthy for mail order sales. Dave Williams
This doesn't seem right that Italeri would let RoG rebox a current production kit and sell it in direct competition to their boxing at half the price. Who would buy any more Italeri boxings? They would be cutting their own throats.
LSP_Mike
How do we know it is the Italeri Mirage? I'd like to get one.
Artful69
How do we know it is the Italeri Mirage? I'd like to get one. It's listed on the Revell release schedule for this year ... I forget where to go to get that - but someone posted a link for it a while back. At the end of the row for each kit listed, it specifies whether it's a re-pop, re-box or new tool. With the re-box stuff it mentions who the originating manufacturer is ... in this case, Italeri Rog
Kagemusha
How do we know it is the Italeri Mirage? I'd like to get one. Chek
That looks a great price, and every collection requires a true classic of the first wave of supersonic jets. Eric did a terrific WIP build maybe a year or so ago, but his RAAF example had the big black painted nose, which doesn't look as good as just the actual radome in black, to my eye. Darren Howie
There may not even be a Revell later this year based off the initial break up of Hobbico...
MikeC
The Antics price (and Antics are most certainly not noted for high prices) looks more realistic. Am I mistaken, or is the picture on the first link a IIIC not a IIIE?
Zero77
This doesn't seem right that Italeri would let RoG rebox a current production kit and sell it in direct competition to their boxing at half the price. Who would buy any more Italeri boxings? They would be cutting their own throats. If it is the old Revell Mirage III, i'd prefer buying a Italeri kit, even if it's twice the Revell price. I think it CANNOT be a rebox of the Italeri kit at half the Italeri price. It must be the old Revell one, and even if it's cheap, it's a lot of work and you'd need a lot of parts to upgrade it to Italeri standard. Or it's just a price error. Zero77
For the ICM reboxing, the Revell one was a bit more expensive than the ICM (in France).

Dave Williams
There may not even be a Revell later this year based off the initial break up of Hobbico... This. Right now, I'd be skeptical of any new kits being released by RoG other than what's currently in release. We might never see this kit, nor any other P-51s, nor the Super Hornets. At least not in Revell boxes.
LSP_Mike
RoG did a rebox of the initial Hase Me-109G4, and for a while, those were 5.00US on ebay. So, I'll have another look at the ad and go from there. Thanks for the input. Sidenote: parts count= 270. Way over the original Revell kit parts count.
