F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair VMF-213 Reluctant Dragon

Here's my final build of the year. I finished it with just under 6 hours left in the year. This was the first plane I've done with any significant weathering so that was some skill building for me.

Sorry if the photos aren't that great but they were the best I could do.

Super build! I really like how those white stripes in front off the windscreen are "sloppy accurate", because that is exactly how they really looked in the field. It takes guts to do that, so good for you!

Cheers,

Chuck

Thanks Chuck! The white tape stripes were more of a lucky mistake, of which there were a few on this build so I'm happy the way it worked out.

Terrific build, Carl! Really nicely done, and super inspiration for me to get back to my own Birdcage build. May I publish it on the website?

Kev

Thanks Kev! Absolutely feel free to publish it. I'll be looking forward to seeing your Birdcage back on the bench again. I know you're doing it the hard way. Let me know if there's anything you need for it.

Fantastic, Carl! My favorite of all your builds and that's me being very picky!

What's with the purple?

Thanks Shaka!

If by purple, you mean the background, it's all I have for when I take pics. I don't have room for a photo booth so I just use those instead. They should be blue though or are you just trying to play games with me since I'm slightly colour blind? :P

Fantastic build. Gotta love the corsair.

May I ask, are the seatbelts AM or what came with the kit? You did a terrific job with them. :goodjob:

Thanks Dale!

The belts are AM, made by Wako. They're similar to the HGW ones.

I do love the Corsair, it's my favorite prop plane.
