Cockpit is about done in respect of the tub. Just needs a couple of decals here and there to add some life. I've got 2 sets of Airscale decals on the way for this and the IPs.

I've also been messing with getting a nice smooth black gloss coat ready for metallic sections.

Since You're putting quite some effort in the pit, here is something You might wanna consider:

The artificial horizon indicator (top-center instrument) often "sags" to one side after the internal gyro's stopped spinning down. Theoretically this means that the instrument on Your IP is not in the "right" position when building the aircraft at rest. However...

Various instruments can be "caged" (locked into position). This is also true for the the artificial horizon, thus preventing the delicate internal gyro's from possible damage during towing for example. When the artificial horizon indicator is being "caged", it pop's into the "up-right" position as indicated on Your IP.  "Gaged", instruments show a bright red "flag" in one of the lower corners of the instrument. You can easily replicate this by putting a tiny bright red dot with a toothpick or something simular.

Absolutely no critisizme on my part but as they say: "The devil is in the details...

Regards Rudy.

P.S.:

Look up some pic's on GOOGLE if You like and I'm sure You'll see what I'm talking about...

Rudy,

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to set the AH to a slightly off center position but the airscale decals that matched the diameter of the secondary instrument was square and I didn't have a punch of the right size to be able to successfully alter this.

Thanks for the tip about the red marker, I'll put one on shortly!

Few updates. The seats need a flat coat of varnish but the enamel washes are still airing off, so it'll be a little while till they're dried enough.

Built up the pylons beyond what Revell give you. Trumpeter F-14 pylons and missiles, Academy sway braces (that was a waste) and some additional details from photos I've got. I've also added the data cable.

Airframe is nearly ready, gotta rescribe the vent on the side it's missing, fit the flap set and detail up the canopy piece some more.

So, a bit of an update. Still trying to get the wingroots right, it's taking cycle after cycle of cleaning up to get it right. Just about everything is ready for paint now.

I've added a wire to replicate the detonation cord on the canopy, 0.2mm aluminium, bent using the kit decal. Honestly, it was a nightmare and I'm wondering if it was worth it!

I've also finished the seats, Airscale decals used here.

Pushing along nicely Breaker ! Love the det-cord and I can imagine it must have been great fun trying to get it all symetrical and conform to the inside curvature of the canopy... As to Your doubt wether it is an improvement or not, I'd say: definately worth the effort ! Would You mind "letting out the secret" regarding how You've attached it to the canopy ? My guess is gloss-varnish...???

Regards Rudy.

If I post you some 2mm Aluminium rods do you want to do the det cords for my Hawk? No? Oh well worth a try...... Great work, used to see these things daily from Valley and Brawdy growing up. From the days when they were Red and White, the switch to Grey and the final switch to the current Black.
