WrongWay
Very nice! I'll be following this build for sure. I'm a big fan of your work. I really like the subtle shading that you are able to achieve. Cheers, Don
LSP_K2
Also cleaned up the parts of the 5 figures and empaled their heads to make for easy painting. No doubt learned from the Genghis Khan school of modeling.
Jamme
Hello Jeroen. I like your seehound! really nice! Interested to see the compas finished. Cheers, Jamme
jeroenpeters
Thnx Guys, I'm going full speed ahead with this project. Figures are all in mid painting stadium. It's the bloody railings that slow me down. Since they were put together before and I've dismantled them, they're reluctant to get back together. Almost done though. A postcard of Reinhard Suhren is in the background. The captain of this tub. The attack periscope lacked the helicoil wires to prevent the wash / water trail. So I've added them. I should make a move on, since the Italeri S100 is steaming towards me! Cheers, Jeroen

jeroenpeters
Looking good Jeroen, When does she get paint? Hi Kev, Soooon! Almost done with the railings and figuring out what parts will be light grey and dark grey. Today however I was distracted by the S100 P*&^ extension that arrived! Man, this thing is BIG! jeroenpeters
As you can see. Almost ready with the Winter garden. Few more bits 'n bobs and this thing is getting a few cups of grey paint!
LSP_K2
Yep, the Schnellboote is a rather big kit allright. My fingers are crossed for a 1:72 Type IX;... perhaps one of these days.
LSP_Ron
Hi Kev, Soooon! Almost done with the railings and figuring out what parts will be light grey and dark grey. Today however I was distracted by the S100 P*&^ extension that arrived! Man, this thing is BIG! That's actually a little disturbing.....

jeroenpeters
OK, finished with the shenanigans! And continued with the U-boot. First paint is on Kev! Dark grey in the interior of the tower. Light grey on the outside. I'm covering the wooden planks with real wooden strips. This will be followed by many washes and pigments to achieve a heavy weathered look. Almost started work on the S100 today, after recieving the Model Master barrels, but decided not to.... Cheers! Jeroen
JRutman
Great idea with the real wood strips. Will there be an authentic piece of history on this dio when you are done? U-boat emblem or instrument face, etc? J
