Good afternoon chaps!

Some of you might remember a few years back that I scratch built the front section of a B17G in 1:20 scale.

qw_006.jpg

Well I made a rather crazy decision to continue down the fuselage and try to build the whole thing!

I started building the bomb bay on 17th September 2016 which once upon a time you could have looked at if you were interested but Photo bucket destroyed the whole lot over night which I'm sure you all know!

So after a years work on and off and a lot of heart ache at times...I present to you the B17G bomb bay section.....I do hope you like it!

Agree, this is amazing. Some of those pics look like the real deal. Very well done, much respect.

Fozzy,

Gotta be one of the most amazing scratch builds I've ever seen. The level of detail is as about as close to the real deal as is humanly possible. When I looked at your inside pictures, it's just about impossible to tell the model from the real bomb bay.

Insanely well done Fozzy!!!
Are you gonna marry up all the sections once your done?
How about putting the bomb bay section up against your front and taking a couple of pics for us mere modeling mortals to drool and oodle over?

Fozzy

I love the work you've done on this and the nose section. To be making your own parts and solving the problems must be immensely satisfying.

It does look real. I think at this scale the way the natural light plays over the surfaces is much closer to how it looks in 1:1 scale.. much more so than in 1:32 for some reason... Looking forward to the next section of this epic.

Hi Tim.......to answer your questions.......I will be displaying the finished project with each section approximately an inch or so apart so that you can see inside each section.........Unfortunately I can not photo the two sections together at the moment as I am over 2000 miles away from my office and the model!....will do it in September if you can wait that long!!!

Martin ... the most unbelievably jaw-dropping work. I'm awestruck - I feel like I'm actually inside the plane when I look at your photos. Just brilliant.
