Zank_Frappa
Currently, I've been in the market for a small benchtop lathe for turning landing gear and various other fittings, couplings, and the like. I like the idea of something smaller than a standard sized lathe for modelling applications, but I don't really know how something like that would play out in practice. I'd like to stay away from the chinesium harbor-freight style stuff, if at all possible, but who knows, maybe they've got some decent offerings. Anyone with experience's input would be greatly appreciated.
Mebo
Look at Sherline lathes. I have 2 and they are great for modelling stuff. I have a couple of Sherline mills too. All the accessories are interchangeable between the mills and lathes. They are pretty good small machines. Too small for Stainless, Titanium , Inconel and so on,but for brass and Alu they are just perfect.
