Erwin
Hi all, I've been building for nearly 40 years and I've never seen this boxart before. P-51 B flying under the Eiffel tower. http://www.ebay.de/itm/1-32-REVELL-P-51B-MUSTANG-855535-/111708265714?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item1a0254dcf2 Found it on Ebay Germany. When was this released ? And is it in LSP's kit database ? Edited July 7, 2015 by Erwin Zero77
Erwin
Forget I asked. I just recalled this topic from a while ago. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=56463 The artist had a lot of imagination when he made the boxart.Has he ever seen the tower ? I'm not saying it can't be done... Erwin
Given its flight attitude, that airplane just flew *through* the leg of the Eiffel Tower. That's some of the worst box "art" I've ever seen! Didn't see that. Must be a Mustang secret prototype. Edited July 6, 2015 by Erwin
DeanKB
If a Mossie did, a Mustang could. http://imgur.com/r/all/A9KIIFj

That's some of the worst box "art" I've ever seen! maybe it's the worst box art YOU'VE seen...........but it really happened, and revell just tried to "envisage" the moment........ And is it in LSP's kit database ? I couldn't find it by searching "Revell" & "Mustang", but it showed up as part of the kit family when I opened the details page for the 2006-vintage P-51B http://www.largescaleplanes.com/kitdb/details.php?kit=2322 Ah, I see why I couldn't find it. The creator of the entry didn't include the plane name. I'm sure I no longer have rights to edit the dB, so if one of the mods could handle that... Tony T
Actually, the box art looks as if the plane flew in front of the tower, but what is akin to telephoto compression has brought them "closer together". Either way, it is a tad naff. Personally, I couldn't care less about a P-51B. I'd rather Revell do a new variant Ju 88 C-6 or new tool Bf 110 G-4. Zero77
Some pilots do it from time to time. http://archives.lesoir.be/un-avion-est-passe-dimanche-sous-la-tour-euffel-et-l-ar_t-19910916-Z04EHU.html Sorry it's in french, but it was a pilot on the run who has stolen a Cap-10 at Lognes airfield eastern Paris, and has passed under both the Eiffel Tower and the Triumphal Arch. The police was not able to catch him. And in the late 80's there was the "black baron". Nobody ever really knew if it was a hoax or a real story, but for several weeks, a mysterious aircraft was flying very low over Paris by night. Zero77
Here are the dimensions of the Eiffel Tower. Pretty freaky to fly between her legs, but would not be too much difficult for a well skilled acrobatic pilot : Rick Griewski
