Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190D9

Hi all,

Some progresses with the Dora...

First of all, 1 mm was added to the Quickboost cowling, which is still slightly too small in every dimensions.

Below the Quickboost gun cowling is glued in place. I had to fight a bit with plastic card to obtain the fit I wanted, i.e the sides of the cowlings slightly larger than the fuselage, like the real thing.

I also modified the cowling to represent a 3 pieces late cowling.

By the way, the wing roots need a fair amount of putty to hide the gap on most of the length.

The radiator cowling, not yet glued, is from Eagle parts. The fit is ok.

First thing to do now is to make the cowling side hinges look better as Hasegawa did a poor job in this area.

Cheers

Hello,

Thanks for your comments! I'm progressing at a snail's pace but indeed paint is coming.

To answer Mal's question the rivet pattern is from different sources, mostly Model Art 336, Aero Details 2 and some drawings from Crandall's book on the Galland Circus.

Walk around photos show that none of them is 100% accurate.

My last modifications include sanding the cowling flaps and exhaust bumps to a more scale thickness, adding the cowling rods, modifying the leather pad in the cockpit (which btw appears whitish on many pictures, like the headrest), adding details to the landing gears (and bring the doors and wheels closer to the struts), shorten the tailwheel.

The cowling hinges are made with steel tubes (and putty...)

The Gunsight is from MDC (the Quickboost being too small) and the gun mounts from Quickboost.

The windshield (not glued) has been masked on the inside, so will the canopy.

Unpacking Henri Daehne VS111 propeller set...

The color instruction booklet is exemplary

Here is what you get. Resin quality is top notch

One of the very tiny counterbalance weight was missing (I'm pretty sure the carpet monster is innocent) so I made a replica.

and it fits like a (Swiss)clockwork.

Where are these available from? I am interested in getting one.
