CATCplSlade
I finally finished it. I had only primered it back in March, but I finally shot the exterior paint two weekends ago. This is my first time building a NMF plane (I just left them in the silver plastic back in the old days), and my first Japanese plane that isn't a Zero. The Hinomaru and blue/white stripes were masked instead of using the kit decals. Kit was mostly OOB except some added wiring in the cockpit and brake lines. This is not a perfect build by any means, and a few things happened along the way that messed up what was going to look a little better (too much pressure popped the wing root seams after I had painted everything , among other things). But for my first attempt at this kind of thing went really well, IMHO. Paint by Mr. Color and Tamiya. Aluminum finish by Vallejo Metal Color. Guest Clunkmeister
Very nice. I have a couple of these in the stash, one for a stock build, one for conversion, and they keep calling my name. That's an awesome build, man. NMF is tough to master, and you did a better job that I could have managed, I'm sure.
CATCplSlade
Thanks for the kind words. Honestly though, careful photo angles hide the fact I live in a dusty house or that the clear coat didn't quite level out everywhere, but I'm still happy. Guest Clunkmeister
It's an awesome model, seriously. I love Alclad, but I always seem to have that one small spot....
CATCplSlade
I passed on buying into Alclad due to ventilation issues in my basement; the Mr Color is harsh enough but the effects come cheaper than a bottle of whisky.

Kendzior
I have a soft spot for Ki-61 (between 2016/2017 have made 4 of them, however 3 were in 1:48th scale...), always nice to see another one - especially done so well.
