ade rowlands
Nice price indeed. I take it at that price this won't be from the 'hi-tech' line like the Tempest. Any idea if they plan to do that for any of the Yaks or is it a one of for the Tempests?
Kagemusha
Just the one, no Hi Tech for the others.
Chek
Presumably the first of a family of Yaks 3-9. And I'm not sure which is most representative of the family yet.
Kagemusha
Available to pre-order https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/SH32067 which factoring the plummeting Pound looks like a good deal...
ade rowlands
Yeah, saw that the other day so put my order in. Interestingly though Hannants are calling it Hi-Tech but given its just nearly half the price of the Tempest I dont think thats right.
LSP_Mike
A nice kit, and long overdue. Hopefully some knowledgeable VVS members will step up with detail info. The I-16 builds up well, so I have high hopes for this kit.

Think you're right, the only 1/32 Hi Tech release according to the info so far is the recently released Tempest V kit.
wrbrdmech
Special Hobby's Facebook page shows the Yak-3 Normandie-Niemen release as being "Hi-Tech". The CAD renderings for the cockpit lead me to believe it will be along the same lines as the Tempest. -Shane Edited July 9, 2016 by wrbrdmech Alburymodeler and Kagemusha

ade rowlands
I was on the Special Hobby website ordering up some bits and pieces earlier and now notice they list this kit as Hi-Tech also. So looking good for a few resin bits and pieces. LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Like many, perhaps most, I don't have a tremendous amount of references for these early Yak types, but enough to know that I think it's a mighty cool looking aircraft. If I can swing it, I may need to put one of these on my "to get" list, one of the very few newer releases that really appeals to me.

D Bellis
...for these early Yak types... The Yak-3 actually entered service much later than the Yak-1/7/9. Thus, the -1/7/9 are the "early Yak types", and the -3 is the late type. In fact, the Yak-3 was the last Yak fighter design to see WWII service. Looking forward to the kit, but somewhat disappointed that it is the -3. D
