Cutting Edge Decals

Anyone here have any experience with Cutting Edge Decals? I just ordered a set because I wanted the 1/32 top hat decal for a Gotthard Handrick 109 and Cutting Edge are the only ones that offer it. I've been looking for reviews of Cutting Edge, but haven't seen yet.

The company has gone the way of the dodo a few years back and remaining decal stock is being sold at The Fine Art Of Decals (dot com). The decal quality is very good, I've never had a problem with any CE decals used over the years

Thanks Seiran, that's the site I got them from. That's a shame they went under as they seem to offer a good bit of decal options.

I seem to have an issue with buying decals as I just bought another set I liked, this time Eaglecals. Looks like I'll be building several more 109's haha.

Only issue I ever had was with the opacity of anything that was printed white. The base color would come through slightly.

The set I used on my Trumpeter F4U-4 were horrible. The white backing on all of the major markings was excessively thick, and resistant to solvents. The fuselage insignia required copious applications of MicroSol and pressing them down over the course of two days before they finally lay down without wrinkling over the subtle, compound-curve area they were applied to. The Orange fuselage stripes did not fit the area they were intended for, and required custom-mixing paint to flesh out where they fell short. They also failed to provide all of the required major markings, leaving me to cut my own K for the top of the right wing from white decal sheet.

 

Looks ok, I guess, but was a genuine PITA from start to finish:
