Progress. While waiting for the cockpit to arrive, I got out the MM Metalizers. The camera flash makes things seem lighter than they actually are.

Based on photos, I've seen a bit of soot on the outside of the exhaust nozzles. I took a hammer to a charcoal briquet, and rubbed it in. Then a coat to seal it.

And the Aires pit finally arrived! Lots of fiddling to get the lower fuselage join just right...

A good wash of the nozzles is in order, then let the painting and PE begin!

Bill,

Your Aires Pit sure looks nice! I used the BB pit before Aires released theirs, If I do another F-4 I'll use the Aires one. :)

All the best to you and your build and keep up the good work!

 Paul

Paul, The Aires pit is beautifully cast. The only drawback (to me) is the PE seat belts. Lots of tiny PE pieces, too. My eyes hurt just thinking about it.

Good show Bill ! Can't wait to see some color splashed on .....Harv

Thanks, Harvey. It's going to be a bit before I start painting. lots of disks to punch for the IP!

Great job on the belts. They are a pain but look sweet when done.

Go Phantoms

Paul

Paul, I've never had much luck with PE belts. These, however, bent more like lead than brass - and without annealing! The parts count was daunting; almost 30 pieces per seat just for the belts...
