RLWP
Sometimes doing is much easier than thinking. I have been trying to work out how to do the fuselage behind the pilot for ages. Half an hour with a bit of sheet in my hand and it's done: Richard MikeC, Alain Gadbois, Starfighter and 5 others

Gazzas
Well, so far, so good... You never know with scratchbuilding, maybe there's a horrible trap ahead Richard I've done a little bit of scratch building in the past. My biggest failures were caused by a lack of information, especially decent drawings. This was mostly pre-internet days, though. With nothing but a Jane's warship book I strove to build SMS Seydlitz about a meter long. Once I discovered my hull shape was all kinds of wrong, I had to throw months of work into the bin. RLWP
We share similar scars, Gaz. On the other hand, I found it quite liberating to throw away projects that had been bugging me. I can recall a Revell helicopter, a 1:28 SPAD XIII, an Airfix Handley Page... Perhaps I should hit the shelf of doom again Richard Gazzas

RLWP
I'm hoping this works out OK, I can see a few possible pitfalls Lots of bits of styrene: put in a sophisticated jig: and glued into a stack: with a bit of cutting make this: and with some rod: are four air cooled cylinders of a Cirrus engine This is a similar thing for the heads. The fat stubs will be spark plugs That's where I am now. It seems to be roughly to the right size. It's a bit rough, I should be able to tweak it into shape. And not much of it is visible So far, so good Richard MikeC, sandokan, Shawn M and 8 others
