SinuheH
Ditto, this was a stalled build….. too many of those in my collection - time to clear the decks!
SinuheH
Anyhow, the Xmas holidays really allowed me some time off for modelling…… amazing how fast progress is then. Masks were drawn and cut using a Silhouette Portrait mat cutter This really is a very useful tool for LSP modellers. After that I did the yellow leading edges, adding some more chipping using a Maskol like solution Let's see how far we progress today…. LSP_Kevin
Looks great Sinuhe! I really want to get one of these cutters. I'll be publishing your review shortly! Good to see Mac software support too. Kev SinuheH
SinuheH
Thanks Kev - the Silhouette is a great tool - and at the price of a modern 1/32 kit - it is something I don't want to miss anymore! I wish somebody would re-release the Alps/OKI set of printer again!

Guest Peterpools
Sinuhe Terrific project and the weathering is superb. Wish I had the know how and talent to make my own masks but at this stage of the game, doesn't look likely. The Ki-84 is looking simply surpurb Keep 'em coming Peter
SinuheH
Thanks Peter - actually making masks is really not that difficult - provided you stick to simple designs…. I'll leave the more complex ones to experts.
BradG
Looks nice mate. You could even go a little harder with the paint chipping if you wanted. SinuheH
SinuheH
Thanks Brad, I agree, especially on the fuselage sides…… this was my 1st attempt ….. live and learn.

SinuheH
Thanks gents, will post another update this evening - the end is in sight. It's been a fun build.
SinuheH
This kit is a lot of firsts for me - yesterday I tried out a Flory wash - and was really impressed! This afternoon, I had my favourite chore - masking canopies - forgot to busy a AM set…... Well that's about it, final update before it is finished. SinuheH
Also tried AK pigment "rust" for the exhaust…. Exhaust stains are with Gunze smoke. Edited December 28, 2013 by SinuheH Whitey

Guest Peterpools
Sinuhe She sure is looking mighty fine. Glad you discovered the Flory Washes - really nice way of doing panel lines and light weathering. I've used them for a long time and totally agree how well they work and how easy they are to use.
