Excellent work Carl!! I think the new landing gear will make a big difference to the way she sits, and looks.

Beautiful finish, you're almost there!!

Thanks Richard!

I really was a bit surprised at the difference in appearance there is due to the slightly longer legs and also being spaced further apart.

Great job all around and very attractive paint scheme!

Alain

Thanks Alain! Thankfully there are only a couple decals left to apply.

The canopy had a separate frame to attach. Mine was warped and didn't fit very well. I had to do a bit of sanding to get a better fit.

After some judicious polishing, it was as good as new. I then masked it off inside and out in preparation for paint.

That being done, I applied the decals and she was done!

One last one with all her benchmates.

Carl, this is looking just s u p e r b ! One of the best Matchbox Spitfire F Mk.24 I have ever seen, that's for sure.

When I saw what you have done with the canopy I understood, that I just can't leave mine as it is, I mean as poorly fitted as it actually is. Excellent job!

However, I will rather adjust the canopy frame at its end, because this part of the Matchbox canopy is much too flat already.

I'd love to see the gallery :)

Best regards

Wow...just wow. Good for you for persevering on this one, all that work paid off in buckets. She looks great, a long way from what comes in the box!

Time to take some glamour shots of her by herself.
