Collin
I flew this jet in the fleet, she is not 100% accurate and is a "three footer" in my opinion. Cheers and Happy New Year all Collin
Cunumdrum61
Nice job on the 48 scale kit.I like your squadron markings and the weathering you achieved on the kit. Really well done! It's a pity that the S-3 is not available in 32 scale! It would be really cool. So what is the S-3 like to fly? I hope to see more of your work. ssculptor
That looks like a very well made model. However, what is wrong about a model that has three foot accuracy? Or 10 foot accuracy for that matter? Is there a law somewhere that a model has to be 100% accurate? This is a hobby for many of us. Is it a hobby for you or is it some kind of compulsion? I always thought that a hobby was some activity that a person indulged in for R & R, rest and relaxation. An activity to ease one from the tension of the workaday world. Did you enjoy building the model? Do you feel good about the experience? If so, why not just present your very good looking model as the result of a pleasurable activity that you indulged in? Why castigate yourself because the model is not 100% accurate. Very few modelers really care all that much because 100% accuracy is impossible to attain in a scale model. So what we do is make our models and take pride in the results of our efforts. No damn fool is going to come up with a set of plans and a micrometer and start determining the accuracy of your model. Maybe at a model show you will find a sick person like that but usually one looks at him as a person who is suffering from a form of dementia and we just shake our head in sympathy for his illness. You presented to us a really good looking model. Really well done. It is not necessary to apologize for its degree of accuracy. Just sit back and bask in our admiration. Cunumdrum61
It's definately not a three footer as the photos shows. It's just we are our our own worst critics and it is for this reason we should show off our work so others can give us encouragement. I'd be happy to have that S-3 sitting in my collection anyday and I think it would do well at a local model show.

Royboy
Hi Collin, Listen to Stephen (the wise old owl aka ssculptor), he's absolutely right! Your model looks FANTASTIC! I like those pretty tail markings too, and I agree, a 1/32 scale 'Hoover' would be great. Keep 'em coming, and thanks for sharing with us! Roy.
