How about a new 1/32 Revell-Germany P-40B Tomahawk?

The enthusiasm over the early D is amazing.  I haven't purchased one yet but it seems to be a crowd pleaser for sure.

All the suggestions mentioned above are ALL serious contenders.  I'm 95% certain however, a P-51C is in the making by Revell.

All that crying will start all over again and shouts of joy and misery because its an actual "C variant" that Revell came out with instead of the -51B and everyone will want to chop off the damn fillet faring in front of the vertical fin!

Don't you imagine the Revell marketing folks just laughing at us all?

Be calm you mortals!  A cleaver minded LSP'sr like William will show the rest of the us the way in taking that left over early D fillet less tail until from that superb Tamiya kit and grafting back on the -51C variant!

Carry on folks.  Finish your model.

Actually the fillet does not necessarily denote that it was a P-51C, nor does the lack of the fillet necessarily mean that it's a P-51B. The fillet was added on the production line at the end of the C run, and retrofitted to Bs and Cs in the field. It is a different fillet to all the versions fitted to the D, and in fact is a little longer and begins ahead of the fuselage break, and is a different shape.

Not that simple.
