A340 Pilot
Hi! I got the Mk.I kit the other day. A birthday present in advance. I've noticed that the rigging is supplied as photo etch. Does anybody have any experience with this? Biplanes are not really something I build, but I'd like to build it as one of the Swordfishes used in the attack on the Italian Navy at Taranto. Are there any decals/profiles on any of the planes that took part in the attack? TIA Stein
Simmo.b
The steel rigging on the trumpy kit is awefull!! Really hard to cut from the fret and prone to sagging once installed. Use the knitting in thread from Wingnut wings if you can manage. Taranto swordfish used a fuel tank in place of the observers position (middle crew position), good info on this can be found in the Squadron swordfish book. Hope this helps, I'm sure there are more expert stringbag fans out there that will be able to help you out!!
Kagemusha
Jamie Haggo built a very nice rendition of a Taranto Swordfish from the Airfix 1/72 kit. http://www.network54.com/Forum/47751/thread/1356892434/My+2012+review.++Only+20+this+year!!!++--)
