Flipper
Hello everybody, I have just returned from ModelBrno competition, with this model. Price with all for me available discounts (taking in mind the decal sheet...) was ok. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/1076388-eduard-11104-p-40n mpk and reconspit
seiran01
Awesome, I didn't know the kit had already been released. Can you please post a photo of the decal sheet? I'm interested to see if they got the color of the RNZAF roundels correct. mpk
seiran01
What's the imitation, Jennings? Eduard website has photo of the decal sheet, the kiwi roundels look too dark to my eyes (Ventura sheets nail the blue IMO, good thing I have some in the stash). I "need" another -N but will wait until the price drops to double digits to pick one up mpk and Troy Molitor
Kagemusha
He's talking about Lulu Belle, which he released on his Fundekals site http://www.fundekals.com/LuluBelle.html mpk and Troy Molitor
seiran01
Ooooh, yeah that makes sense. Ventura does one of not both of those kiwi schemes too. Guess Eduard isn't capable of original thought in their marking options, eh? mpk
Shawn M
to me the biggest allure of this line is the Hugolt Prints. wrbrdmech and mpk
ade rowlands
Already have the Ventura decals for Gloria Lyons scheme, Resin wheels and exhausts from when Derek Bradshaw was selling them so I just ordered the overtrees from the Eduard site for £38 delivered. Sure hope its like their other overtree stuff and I get the whole kit minus decals and fancy add ons..... maybe should have asked first and not been impulsive. Oh well. mpk and CANicoll
Guest
Looks like they made the mistake of printing "LuLu Belle" in white when it should be yellow. Not a BIG deal as it's fairly easy to overpaint the decal with yellow.
reconspit
...a 100 bugs...? Puuuuhhhh.... :-( mpk
CANicoll
I'm getting to be a fan of the Overtree thing Eduard does. I ordered one of their Spitfire kits, and an Overtree set as well. Its all there, minus the PE, Masks and Decals. Very cool! Chris mpk
LDSmodeller
Awesome, I didn't know the kit had already been released. Can you please post a photo of the decal sheet? I'm interested to see if they got the color of the RNZAF roundels correct. Check out the link below (scroll half way down) No, they didn't, they printed those stupid Electric/pale blue markings which never ever existed. Not impressed by the supposed Olive Drab either, and missed the code letter "G" off NZ3220 https://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/distributors/leaflet/leaflet2017-07.pdf This colour painting by the RNZAF Artist Maurice Conly (who actually spent time in the forward area) shows what the correct colour should look like http://rnzaf.hobbyvista.com/Images/p40.jpg Rare colour photo of an RNZAF P40N - note dark Blue Roundel colour http://rnzaf.hobbyvista.com/Images/lsn.jpg Actual Olive Drab off an RNZAF P40 (either M/N) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3Yff6LKWML1VVZ2WmNzWG41ZTA/view?usp=sharing History on Gloria Lyons and aircraft http://rnzaf.hobbyvista.com/gl.html Regards Alan Edited June 20, 2017 by LDSmodeller mpk
Flipper
Decals in reality are much more close to the colors from instruction sheet. Distributors leaflet is more for information as for considering the reality:https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/3/8/8/1076388-73-instructions.pdf mpk
Martinnfb
Why copy, they just decided to choose the same scheme. There was a long debate what camouflage should Eduard go with and this is the result.
DeanKB
So Eduard release an existing kit with existing decals? Hardly filling a gap in the market. And I find Eduards obsession with scantily clad females bloody infantile.
Dave J
The rudder camo is similar but different to my eye. mpk and Smokeyforgothispassword
