I'm using it as an inspiration... The RFC Crossley + Trailer... 1/32 100 % Scratch build - http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=60301&hl= It's my intention to convert it from a Hispano Suiza to a Wolseley Viper powered S.e.5a. I just cannot stand the Hisso-nose (sorry) I'm not quite sure why, but perhaps it's because one of my first builds, as a boy, was a 1/72 S.e.5a from Revell? Anyways, I've been working on the nose/cowling... Some 'stretchmarks' added with putty, as the wings won't be attached, some details to the wingroot... Dryfitting of the Wolseley engine... Parts for the converted front, radiator and grill... New engine cover from aluminium... Rebuild S.e.5a by 'The Vintage Aviator' - New Zealand... Edited July 4, 2017 by kkarlsen D.B. kkarlsen Posted March 28, 2016 Author Share Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) I purchased the Part S32031 - RAF S.E.5a w/Wolseley Viper Photoetch set 1/32, with a grill for the radiator, but i simply don't know how to assemble the tiny PE parts, and to get a nice result? There is also the Mastercasters Wolseley Viper resin front for WNW, but I really would like to see if it is possible to get a more correct look of the radiator, with an open grill... Mastercasters resin front... Original Wolseley Viper front... I managed to get them done in 0.3 mm plasticard, but if one of you know a smarter way, it would be very much appreciated... I've managed to make some in 0.3 mm plasticard, but they are still a bit 'heavy' Maybe you can try some of the Radu's PE sets. Some are flat rigging wires. But hopefully my skills will improve some time in the future... I have more Wolseley's in the 'Pipeline' The PC10 - Well like most of my paints, I mix them myself, I find most paints out of the bottle are too 'garish/stark'? This time I have used a olive drab as basis, mixing it with some hull red, white and black I think... Starting from a dark layer, doing thinned and lightned paint to get some variation. I did give it a bit of dark wash (enamel) and I think i will try and add some oil color filtering... Zero77 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
